Hi All
There are some grant applications that apply to individual people rather
than the whole team, so to help Hannorah and Emma S with this I needto
compile the following from everyone who is going to DART. If you could
reply as soon as poss that would be extremely helpful. I'll compile
everything into the one list.
1. Are you happy to be applied for as an individual? If not, leave it here.
If yes:
2. Age
3. Hometown (where you grew up - main place(s) I guess for those that
travelled about a lot!)
4. What area of London do you currently live? (or other area if out of
London!)
5. Any particular USP (unique selling point) that makes you fundable. Could
be that you are studying dance, or write about folk music or are a
promising full-time musician or any other (however tenuous) thing?
Thanks,
Hannah
Hi All,
Please find minutes attached from Wednesday. Was a very productive meeting,
so thank you all for making excellent progress.
Couple of key updates:
- Crowdfunding page is a go!
- we are not applying for Charitable Status, it is too much effort for the
minimal benefit that it might bring;
- HTD has kindly taken over leading on the Corporate Sponsorship
Otherwise, minutes attached and Action Points below. Let me know if I've
missed anything off, and if anyone needs help with anything that they are
working on please do shout.
Thanks,
Hannah
*Action points*
◦ CW to share Postcard thank you design and then get printed
◦ Mention crowdfunding page in business
◦ TR official post next week about it (HTD or make MC an admin)
◦ MS draft article for The Nut
◦ Ceilidh with Tower Ravens – ticket page to go live on Friday
◦ WA to get advert for ceilidh in Folk London
◦ MC / EH to provide ES / HL with info for grant applications (2nd and 3rd
ones look to be possible, 1st not sure we can qualify)
◦ HL to do the easyfundraising thing
◦ ES to share the letter (can then use for other stuff too)
◦ EFDSS funding for WA at very least
◦ TH compile list of folk world avenues for applying for money
◦ HTD compile list of corporate people we could contact and draft formal
letter
◦ HTD make DART page on TR web live
◦ EH / MC discuss flight money
◦ MC provisionally book car hire
◦ HN create day practice doodle
◦ HN organise logistics checks etc
Hi All,
It's just over a week until the next DART meeting, so thought I'd send a
brief reminder on what we were last time and the progress I am aware of so
far.
The fundraising ceilidh is now all booked in and we have Nick Walden
calling, so that's now sorted too. Will discuss next week, but we'll have
to start thinking about advertising etc. Sounds like Will has this all
under control at the mo.
Action points:
◦ HN to share the DART G Drive folder for everyone to make use of - done
◦ HN / TH proofread CW page, BS to review - I think updates are done on
this, we just need to figure out the logistics of the thank you postcard
idea. *Becky *would you like to have a review?
◦ HL to confirm whether “hopeful” grant application requires charitable
status - *Hannorah?* How's this going?? I think you said it was due in
March? Do you need help writing? If so, Tori is happy to help
◦ HTD to add page to TR website - any updates? Should have the
crowdfunding page available for you v soon!
◦ All consider things to do whilst away
◦ TH to draft why we might need to be a charity and assess implications if
not a charity. HN to help update. HL/ES provide info - any update? Starting
to reach a point where applying for charity status is pointless - given it
will take about 2 months to do and the faff currently outweighs the benefit.
◦ EH review banking implications of becoming a charity - Emma, I wouldn't
worry about this if you haven't done it as what the benefit of being a
charity would be as this is basically unclear at the mo
If we wish to look at corporate sponsorship we will need someone to take
this on.
Thanks,
Hannah
