Hi all,
Practice is on this Monday! It'll be at St Michael Cornhill Church, near
Bank/Monument Tube.
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=214385215377759623824.0004…
The main entrance to the church will be shut. To get to the practise room,
walk down the alley to the side of the church, turn left after the Jamcia
Winehouse Pub, and then turn left through a metal gate into a grassy
courtyard. The door is on the right of the courtyard, but you should see us
by then.
The Pub this week will be the Ship again - as normal, as a few of us have
some loyalty cards to fill (meeting at 6.30). This is likely to changein
future weeks, so keep your ears open.
If you've not yet got your tshirt, don't forget to do that, and Jo, Ffion
and Sue - bring your £5's for you're petticoats. They're ready!
See you all then!
Rachel & Linds :)

Hi all,
The video of the dance is up here: http://youtu.be/lMCOBUiz4SQ (or at least
it will be in 34 minutes). It's private, so nobody else can access it.
The website of the Victorian themed speakeasy we were asked to dance in on
Monday is here: http://leyshonbrothers.com/ Looks cool! We'll have to see
if we can arrange a tour around London Bridge area some time soon.
Official email will come out later in the week courtesy of Lindsey.
See you all Monday!
Rachel :)
6. VIDEO
The video that we took last Monday looks amazing! I'm still trying to work
out how to get it onto the computer and then the email list (and having a
spare minute to do that in...), but if I don't manage it by Monday, I'll
bring the camera along to practice. I think it's really interesting to
watch yourself dance, and I know that I picked up a lot of things to work
on myself.
R
Hi all,
Thanks to those of you who made it out on Monday - it was a really good
practice and I think we danced really well. Apologies again to Jo and
Janet who ended up at the church by themselves!
A few things to mention before next week, so this is a long one:
1. NEXT MONDAY'S PRACTICE
Next Monday we will again not be in St Margaret's. Lindsey has managed to
get us studio space just across London Bridge at a place called arch 897 (
http://www.arch897.com/). It will probably just be a one off, but watch
this space on that front. I suggest we meet outside at 8pm. Call me on
07910 836480 if you get lost.

2. KIT SEWING DAY
If you are free tomorrow (Sat 22nd), do come over and help us sew kit.
Even if you don't have a sewing machine, you can be helpful by cutting
things out, etc. We're meeting at mine again (N1 4QH), starting at 11am.
See lots of you then!
- - - - - - - -
3. TSHIRTS
On a related note, if you haven't yet bought your H&M tshirt (I haven't, I
haven't seen a shop yet this week...), don't forget to do that! See
Lindsey's earlier email as to which.

4. DANCE
Various people were asking to have the whole dance written down last week,
so here it is. If there's a particular figure you always get stuck on, try
and think of a little summary for it.
single guard - (try to get round in four, pattern is 1,3,5,2,4)
back 8 - (try to start this when 5 gets to the 10o'clock to 12o'clock
position)
figure 8 - (remember to come straight up to the front each time)
moving fixy
spin
cramper - (don't step out too far, 3 runs really fast!)
nut - (cast from cramper, then make a lock, so 4 and 5 slip the second time)
maryanne - (1 inside the first two times, 5 inside the second two times)
granny knot - (keep the hands neat at the front)
half a curley
fourth corner - (snap the swords down in the line, 2,3,4 squatting left leg
back)
ending - (step for four round the lock, then walk in two to the line, one
single (steppity-step), then step in fours until 1 shouts out!)
- - - - - - - -
5. DIARY DATES
As I think you all know, we'll be on tour for the first time with Thrales
on 12th October, so keep that in your diaries. Thrales weekend, which we
are also hoping to dance at, is the afternoon of Sunday 11th November.

I hope that helps!
Have a good weekend, and see you all on Monday,
Rachel :)
Having been to h&m and questioned a large selection of people, the code
online and the code in store don't match.
You therefore need to look for a 'divided basic's t-shirt' at a cost of
£3.99. I've attached a photo of the label. The magic number is the one on
the top left of the barcodes '081103'.
At present I can't find this on the internet. I can't find the internet
ones in store.
Just keep receipts, and we can always return them if we accidently get
different ones.
Lindsey
My plan was to wonder down to the oxford street store and see which ones
they had in, and looked nice - and then alter the one we're looking at if
there was a better option. If they don't have anything in, we'll have
another think tomorrow.

Hi Rachel,
Sorry for the late notice but it would be great if I could come for dinner. What time should I aim for?
Thanks,

Hi all,
If you are planning on eating with me, can you let me know by 5pm, so that
I know how much food to buy? So far it's just Josie and me.
Thanks,
Rachel :)
Ladies,
Unfortunately, the church have decided that we can't have the hall as usual
this Monday. Due to the short notice, it hasn't been possible to find
another venue in the town centre, and so practice this coming Monday will
be in my front room! For those of you who haven't been there before, it
should be big enough if we push the furniture back, and I've checked with
the girl upstairs.
My apologies to those of you in south London, because it is going to make
getting home afterwards harder. The address is 21a Wolsey Road, N1 4QH.
Oh, and the doorbell doesn't work, so please ring me (07910 836480) to get
in.
If you would like to come for dinner beforehand, you are welcome to. Just
let me know a little in advance so I know how much to cook!
This should only be a one-off, as hopefully we'll have something more
central sorted thereafter. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
See you all on Monday! We'll start with a run-through like last time :)
Rachel x
