Hi all,
Just found this on facebook (I wasn't intentionally spying!) and thought you might like to see how our realistic competition are getting on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmp7-7dlTC8&sns=em
I've only watched it once but I'd say their stepping style is more consistent than ours but they're not very in time and, because it's so slow and the tommy routine wasn't very interesting (maybe because its a rehearsal not a dance out) they'll score very low on buzz.
See what you all think

My folk band, The Foxglove Trio, is releasing a CD on 1 March! Pre-orders are now being taken.
Hello all,
Following a discussion with Sue, there is a proposal for a Theme 1b option.
The advantage of this over theme 1, is that it is a more standard font,
thus meaning we would be able to use the font on the website, rather than
just on images.
With regards to crispness, theme 1b, like theme 2, hasn't been made into
a final (vector) image yet, so please don't judge them on the
crispness/smoothness of the image. This is very apparent on the 'R' of
theme 2, and will be smoothed out to look like the 'final hopping bird' all
over.
Happy voting!

Ok - sorry it's a little later than planned.
Voting finishes midday on Sunday - so I can finalise designs for the
business cards, to be voted in Monday, so you guys can take them to DERT!
There are two themes.
Theme 1 - Raven sat on top.
Theme 2 - Raven 'R'.
Both Themes include a banner, logo and possible business card layout. The
business card's aren't final and are there as an illustration.
The last page of the document is a very quick idea of what a little bit of
colour might do. If anyone has any idea's for how to add colour into the
mix, that would be brilliant, please email me! I've done a few ideas with
highlighting the raven feathers on both designs, but it's taking alot of
time, so though I would only develop that on the final design.

P.s. I did mock up the design for theme 2 with the gothic font, but it
looked really bad, so I've ditched it. It's attached for those who would
like to wince.
P.p.s. I've also attached the little hopping bird, cos he's cute, and took
ages to draw! I thought whatever we chose we could probably fit him on the
website somewhere.
Thanks Hannorah... Amazing as usual!
See you all later. Very excited!

5. The Archers Osbourne Street
6. Princess Alice Commercial Streetyes

Hi all,
Sorry, I completely forgot to mention that I have an extra class tonight at 6:30, because of an exam tomorrow. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to go as it's a pretty important exam!
Have a good practice, and good luck on Thursday's crawl!
Aisha
Dear Ravens
Has anyone had any luck sourcing these? Someone was going to try to look into it, but I can't remember who.
I have had a brief search on the internet, but I daren't spend any more time on it until the sewing is done, by which time it will be too late to get them for DERT.
We need 24in round laces in royal blue, 3mm/ 3/32in wide or less. Maybe 1/8in wide would do.
The nearest I've got I are in the USA at http://www.shoelacesexpress.com/blueshoelaces.asp#dress
If anyone could help here, I'd be ever so grateful.
Please remember to bring your 'sash' to tomorrow's practice.
Jo - don't worry about your skirt tomorrow, unless Ffion asks us to bring them for practising in. Could I borrow it after next Thursday's crawl, please?
Oh dear, I'm getting very bossy. Sorry everyone. Note to self - don't panic!
S x
Hiya,
Thanks to those of you who came out last night - I had a really good
night, and I thought we did some really good dances. I hope Ffion's
finger gets better soon!
For those of you who weren't there, we raised £62.75, which from 5
dances isn't at all bad!
My note to self, as it were, is to try and tighten up the chunks of
stepping between the figures, so you can all call me on that after a
dance if I fail. :)
Hope you have a good practice on Monday (I won't be around), and
looking forward to our next crawl in Whitechapel.
Rxx
Hi Team
Just a quickie re. the crawl on Thursday night.
We're doing Euston/King's Cross/Russell Square area, or if we're being posh - Bloomsbury.
Let's meet in the Bree Louise on Coburg St (right by Euston station) between 6pm and 7pm, with everyone dressed and ready by 7.15.
This is a lovely real ale pub that does smashing pies (Nikki I know you're a fan) so is an ideal place to get something to eat beforehand.
I won't be getting there til at least 6.30, as I'm not in London on Thursday, but can those who arrive earlier attempt to get a spot on the non-carpetted floor - there's not much of it, and we'll need it if we're going to dance.
At the moment the route is looking like this, subject to a few confirmations and possibly a few changes:
Bree Louise - http://www.thebreelouise.com/ - if there's space
Royal George - http://www.taylor-walker.co.uk/pub/royal-george-euston/c1025
Prince Albert - http://www.fancyapint.com/Pub/london/prince-arthur/1598 TBC
Mabel's Tavern - http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/63/6376/Mabels_Tavern/Euston
O'Neill's - http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/65/651 TBC
Euston Flyer - http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/37/3701/Euston_Flyer/Euston TBC
The Cock Tavern -http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/34/34001/Cock_Tavern/Euston TBC
The Dolphin - http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/show.shtml/49/Dolphin/Kings_Cross - very folk-friendly
Back to:
The Rocket - http://www.therocketeustonroad.co.uk/ (after 9.30 when food's finished)
Friend at Hand - http://www.taylor-walker.co.uk/pub/friend-at-hand-bloomsbury/c6713/ (after 10 when football's over)
Re. the crawl on 28th Feb I could really do with a hand organising this, as I'm incredibly busy work-wise at the mo' and am working over the weekend too, so no real time to check out pubs. I will bring a list of possible pubs in the Whitechapel area to practice this evening in case any of your fancy slipping approaches with me.
Cheers
