Huge thanks for coming all. And putting up with the huge attrition rate of
pubs.
My guess for the crawl is £127.
Thanks also for putting up with my crazy work people. They have just done a
small practise ready for their lunchtime performance... I shall attempt to
get a video for you all.

Hi all,
We've been contacted about an event from Waltham Abbey Folk Club for the weekend of 17th,18th July next year (a long way off I know).
It is a new mini-fest for Kent (Bewl Water Country Park) - free camping until Sunday 19th.
Ceilidh, Morris Sides, 15-minute marquee performance slots & separate "tunes" sessions. No payment for appearances, but should be great weekend in brill location - if dancing as rapper side, all free except for £10 Ceilidh entrance.
The nearest train station is Wadhurst, although this does fall about 5 miles short of the park which might need a taxi journey? The train journey looks to take about an hour and cost about £20 for a return.
I won't put this on the sign-up sheet yet but I am putting it as an item for the AGM as we will be discussing what we want to do next year.
I should hopefully be sending out a draft of the AGM within the next week for everyone to have a look at and to respond to should they want anything else discussing.
See some of you tomorrow for the crawl :)

Hi all,
Last night we made sure Lizzie's ready for her dance out debut on Thursday and we did a bit of work on the first few figures in the new dance.
Lindsey said some of the pubs for the week's crawl are very small so we also did some work on dancing in small spaces! For those who weren't there but are coming on Thursday the basic principles are: take small steps, keep swords as high as possible (this gives you and others more space to dance underneath), put less energy in - this makes it feel slower but it's better to be slow and tidy then energetic and dangerous. Other specific things to think about: keep walk round really tight for walk the dog and hoops; keep elbows in in open ring, glass and spin; if necessary make fourth corner into a V with number 3 further back and 2&4 angled towards each other. Hope that makes sense out of context! Let me know if you've got any questions.
We've got lots of people for the crawl on Thursday so it should be a good one. Please feel free to come along for the social aspect even if you're not ready to dance out yet or haven't been to practice in a while. Also feel free to bring friends - it's always nice to have a rent-a-crowd :-)
See you all soon,
Ffion x
Hello all!
We have a crawl all set up for thursday.
The first pub is 'The Shakespeare' which is just outside Barbican tube
station. We're looping down alongside Smithfield Market, and then up
alongside Farringdon.

Hi,
I'm sorry but I'm going to miss practice tonight, and I don't think I'll make the crawl on Thursday either. I hope you have a good one, and I'll see you next week.
Sinead
Sorry for the very late notice, but I won't be making the practice tonight,
having some problems with my leg, and I won't be making next week either as
a friend is coming up from Durham. Hopefully after that I will be able to
come more regularly.
Sorry again,
Reesha
Hello fellow Ravens
Just thought I'd say hello and that I haven't forgotten about Tower Ravens!
Hope you are all doing well and having lots of fun.
Feeling really settled in Cambridge and loving my new job. I hope to see you all soon and this is certainly not a hello / goodbye to TR!
Love and swords, Nic xxx
PS. I have finally put DERT photos (from 2014 at least!!) on TR facebook page.
Hello all,
For those who haven't seen on facebook Simon's birthday is happening at the sekforde arms starting around 7. So that is nearest to Faringdon :-) see you there!

Hello all!
Just to let you know Sue will be chairing the AGM. She was the only person to offer up her services and she did a great job last year so seems ideal.
Should anyone have any issues with this please let me know.
Kind Regards.

Hi all,
Thanks to everyone who came on Monday. We got Reesha all the way through Jubilee and did a bit of sword handling work. Hannorah also learnt to come in as a Tommy and did some very proficient tumbling!
Unfortunately I don't think we're going to get the new dance out at Thrales Day as there are now only two practices until then! We'll have to aim for the November crawl and Mables Day instead. I therefore want to remind you all to keep checking the sign up sheet and marking what you're able to come to. It's not only helpful for Becky in terms of bookings, it's also very helpful for me in order to plan practice sessions in advance. Plus it helps us all know what we need to sort out in terms of kit! Why not pin the google doc to your browser to make sure it's easily available all of the time?! https://docs.google.com/document/d/11XHQc6j0g7HQto7rhOs6k0bfkw-XmFb8jmCeRa4…
Also, a reminder that The Foxglove Trio have a gig tomorrow night at Islington Folk Club. It's in the Horseshoe pub near Farringdon which we've danced in before. £7, starts at 8pm. It's our last London gig this year and it would be lovely to see some of you there.
