Hi to everyone and most importantly Becky as she knows some details of the event. It is getting to the time I feel when we need to book things up. I am going by train from London and would like to book the same as others so which would be the best to go for? I hope Becky may have some idea over this. As to where we stay. I think there is indoor camping but I am not sure how keen I am over this option. Is anyone else heading for a Bed and Breakfast? Where would the best place be? This would partly depend on where we meet for dancing. Looking forward to hearing from people, Janet x

Hello all. I'm afraid I'm not here tomorrow but will see you all the Monday after- please do discuss anything I say here and if Ffion could e-mail me with anything I need to know that'd be great. Firstly: I've added the Puzzle Party that Nikki mentioned to us some time ago to the sign up sheet. 8th August 2014 - Puzzle Party - Near HeathrowHosted by a close friend of Nikki’s this event is happening just outside of Heathrow. There is some discussion of a performance or a small workshop - I think it’s up to us. This would be a paid gig so if we do have a team it’d be great for the money box! Please fill this in, I know a number of us can't make it but if we did have a team I think it'd be great to do. Secondly: We have also been invited to the One World Folk Festival in Lordship rec -Tottenham on the 20th September. It must be noted that we were invited in a some what badly edited email which had initially been sent to Thrales, BUT it's a paid gig and second choice ain't bad. JIGS: I know there have been various emails about optional dances and music for the jig practice. To confirm this is happening on the 4th of August as Ffion is away! FYI re. morris music-does is ever sound exciting? Jo - are you getting in touch with Ru re. clog practice? The poll suggested 20th of August or 10th September as the most people available. Plan for the rest of the summer and new dance

Hello! Thanks to everyone who came to the gig last night. It was really nice to see you all there and fun to do a dance. I think the audience enjoyed it too! I've been looking over our bookings for the rest of the summer and have come up with the following potential plan of action. The plan 14 July Jubilee alternative positions: 1) Jo and Katherine 2) Hannorah, 3) Kat B 4) Becky 5) new Katherine Jubilee: working on the lock if there's no tumble Polish Beadnell with people who've missed practices/who want to do more Beadnell practice. 21 July Polish Jubilee alternative positions: 1) Jo and Katherine 2) Hannorah, 3) Kat B 4) Becky 5) new Katherine including tumble practice for Kat. Practice dancing in small spaces and strange surfaces (outside) especially for those on next crawl: 1) Rachel, Katherine 2) Laura, Janet 3) Becky, Lindsey 4) Hannorah, Sinead 5) Kat 28 July I will be on holiday. It's quite a tall order as we've still got a lot to do on it. I feel the most efficient way of writing and learning the dance would be to concentrate on having 5 people who will be at Tenterden learn it first and then they can teach everyone else how to do it in October. I'm aware this isn't very egalitarian so if you feel strongly that we should teach the dance to everyone who turns up each week let me know. If a lot of people feel this way I think we'd have to shift the target dance out date to the October crawl or even Thrales day. Thrales day has to be the ultimate deadline or else we'll have to do Beadnell as our second dance!! If we are going to focus on 5 dancers getting the new dance right first, that mean those five need to be able to commit to all of the practices in September. It also means we need the right numbers. At the moment we have 6 dancers signed up for Tenterden (not in the positions I hoped for!) and lots of maybes. Reminders

Hello Everyone! I am off to Ely festival tomorrow night so will be sans internet access so sending a quick reminder now about things to do before Monday's practice. 1- There is a meeting in the church on Monday- it should be over by half seven but we must make an effort not to just barge in! 2- Could the people who are maybes for York check the signup sheet to say whether they will be yes or no. We have a team plus extras, but not for every position so to avoid being shattered anyone that can say yes for definite would make me feel better about confirming! The maybe people are Lindsey, Janet, Nic and Ffion. There are also some no replies although I think they're out of the country or haven't been with us long! Details for TR social tomorrow night

Hello Ravens Hope you're enjoying the lovely weather and the sporty weekend. I have got the following people tickets for tomorrow night at the Green Note: Joanna Hannaroh Sinead plus 1 Nikki Ozzy Becky Me Catherine Sue and Lindsey may join us but will get a ticket on the door. Tickets were £8. Happy to have the cash on the night / next practice or online transfer. There were a few of us who would like to eat first so I suggest meeting outside the Green note at 5.45pm and then head somewhere to eat... There are loads of places on the parkway near to the Green note and no need to book on a Monday night. We will then head to the green note for 7.15 to get tickets / seats. Music starts 8pm. Can you let me know who is meeting earlier for dinner so I know to expect you. If you can't get to the gig for 7.15 no worries, just give me a call when you arrive and I'll come and meet you with your ticket. !! Monday and On!

Hey guys, 1. Just a quick reminder to say there is NO practice on Monday but some of us are going to see Ffion and Laura play at the Green Note gig (on the sign-up sheet) which I believe Nick has sorted tickets to. 2. Also PLEASE, if you haven't already, could you respond to the poll re. clogging. I should emphasise for those who haven't been at practice for recent discussions that this is not some weird drift into being a rapper and clog side. We are a rapper side but for whole days of dancing where you have to entertain the same people for hours we want some variety. We have people who can clog so we're hoping to build on that so that they/anyone else who manages to pick up the skills can fill a slot. I have confirmed with Rockingham that we will be going to Peterborough for their day of dance on the 13th of September. During business last week we decided that due to Rockingham, York Festival of Traditional Dance, and Faversham Festival weekends being consecutive we should choose two to go to. The conclusion seemed to be Rockingham because it's close, we're forming pretty good relations with them, and it's only a day in Peterborough and York because it is the opposite! We thought a weekend away as a team for an event focussed on dancing, including rapper, rather than a lot of the events we've done recently, would do us good. We have a side but for a weekend it would be nice to have confirmations from people. If we can confirm ASAP we can organise travel which the team decided will be subsidised in some way, so don't let that put you off. If you are unsure due to price please contact me or ideally Jo and we will start figuring the numbers. York is 6th to 7th September.
