Hi all,
Assuming we have a team (Katherine will confirm) we'll meet this Thursday at a pub called the Old bank of England. It's a fullers pub on Fleet Street. Don't go to Bank! The nearest tube stop is Temple but it's also not far from Charring Cross or Holborn. Please be there at 7 ready to dance at 7.30pm. It's a big pub so I haven't bothered booking a table for eating.
We'll then dance at some of these pubs (a mixture of definite yeses and maybes) ending up at Charring Cross tube:
Ye olde cock tavern
Dalys Wine Bar
The temple bar
The Wellington
Savoy tup
Coal hole
Retro
Theodore bullfrog
See you soon,
Ffion x

Having had a reply:
Trefusis room at 6.45 in C# this Saturday (as in start dancing then). You can then assess if there is space in any of the other rooms that you might want to perform in. I think the technique of rounding people up to come and see us works well though.
Please arrive by 6.30 at the very latest to ensure every one is ready to dance. I will leave it to Katherine to dictate if you need time for a runthrough in advance so keep and eye on emails!!

Dear all
Apologies for the late notice but the crawl tomorrow is cancelled as we
won't have a team. We will hopefully be able to use the route Ffion scouted
out around The Strand later in the year. Best wishes Katherine
Not sure where we've got to with thinking about DERT accommodation but I just saw this on facebook http://www.dert2017.co.uk/rainbow-tavern/ It's £35 per night per room normally so it could even work out cheaper than last year's hostel!Ffion x

Hello all,
Reminder! There is no practice tomorrow as it is a bank holiday, hope you're all having a lovely weekend :)
Watch this space for confirmation and details of a crawl on Thursday, Ffion is now trying to move house so has all gone a bit up in the air. Please check the signup sheet to make sure your response is correct and change your maybes to yes or no!
The dance at Cecil Sharp is happening this Saturday and should be at 6.45 - please wait for details to confirm exactly when and where as still trying to firm it up with Graham. Sue and Jo you are both maybes but can you make it?? Sinead we haven't seen you in a while are you likely to be around? (Hope all is well with you, do you know when your new terms lectures are??)

An agenda will be produced, oh, any day now, for the AGM on the 12th!
Thanks,
Becky xx
Hi all
At next weeks practice I would like to try out some slight modifications to
Piccadilly and Jubilee. In particular I am thinking off changes to:
Jubilee
- Walk the dog
Piccadilly
- Square display - how we turn between positions in a hope to make it
consistently the same shape.
- Sweeps - something different and less similar to other teams.
- Curly - removing it, we might be able to put some time back in somewhere
else in the dance.
If you've had any ideas about things you would like to change, try or even
parts of the dance you don't think work send me an email and I will add
them to the list of potential changes. I would like to stress that these
are only ideas - none of them may work.
Also, next week I am hoping to have *2 sets *as the only regular member who
is to my knowledge not coming is Rachel-anne. This should mean there are
12/13 people at practice which would be fantastic before we break for 2
weeks and we can get lots done! *Please let me know if you can not make
practice as I will be preparing a plan for 2 sets*.
Thank you and have a nice end to the week!
Katherine
Me again,
I meant to add this to the signup sheet before and totally forgot.
Most people now know that Katherine and Simon are getting married! This is now set for the 1st April (no really) up in Leeds and she'd like to have Tower Ravens dance. It's a week before DERT so it goes without saying it will be an excellent opportunity for dancing out! The plan (at the moment) is for the team to do a crawl during the afternoon culminating at the wedding in the evening, which will include a dance spot.
Obviously as she is our beloved leader it'd be ace if we had a team. Once we've figured out if we have a team we can look into accommodation/trains etc.
Yay for weddings.

Hello all,
For those who missed practice I'll just recap what was said!
1. We don't have a scratch side for Whitby, so no need to bring kit
2. There aren't enough people for the August crawl so we're going to try the 1st September, please sign up!
3. Laura S. do you know if you can do 3rd September London folk fest? I know you're playing but I'm not sure when, we were going to suggest dancing in the gap between afternoon and evening entertainment - 6/7ish? Without you we don't have a definite team and I'm a bit loathe to start organising times we might not make.
4. Most people can make the AGM on the 12th, if you haven't signed up already please do. I will write up an agenda soon but if you have any particular points you want discussing please let me know.
5. I have declined the two West Norwood Ceilidh invites as we just don't quite have teams and it seems unfair not to give him a response.
6. I am declining Carshalton DoD as we haven't got a team
7. Sorry to mention again! It would seem that staying in the village for Laura's wedding are Me, Katherine, Hannah, Hannorah and Sue. Laura W. if there aren't six of us will it be more expensive per person??
I will look into trains for the wedding and Northgate DoD and talk at business next week.

Thanks everyone, have a good week!
Becky
Hello all,
1. crawl2. AGM3. Declined dance around the world fest4. Laura Ws wedding5. Northgate DoD6. Ceilidh spots in September
1. Firstly thanks to everyone who came on the crawl and danced, collected etc. Big thank you to Hannah for organising it all and sorry we had so many disruptions (punch ups, negative pubs etc)! Overall we made £110.86, not as much as normal but not bad for 6 pubs and without Sue doing her normal great work :)
2. First of all I would like to call our AGM for the 12th September, I know this is earlier than usual but we feel it will give any new committee members a longer time to prepare for DERT as changing in November can potentially cut it a bit fine. If you are unable to attend please let me know by next weeks practice, as I can reschedule if necessary, but as we need a months notice I would rather not do it too much later on! For anyone who hasn't attended before, and for any reason can't make this one, please note points of discussion will be shared in advance and any points you have can be sent ahead, as well as being able to raise any concerns you may have.
3. Secondly we have declined the invitation to the Cecil Sharp dance around the world festival, we weren't getting anywhere with a team and, with Laura's wedding the day before, most people were rather reluctant to do two events in a row. I have asked her to think of us in the future though!
4. Laura's Wedding- just waiting on accommodation confirmation which we should get this week. As far as the day goes a vote was taken for a relaxed afternoon and meal in Chilham, followed by a small pub crawl (there are three pubs!) culminating in laura's wedding :)
5. 29th October Northgate day of dance: Laura S or Hannorah, can either of you make it? If so I can accept the invite. Plan is meet at 11 to start dancing at 12, finish at a final pub at 5 where everyone will do one last dance. Northgate aren't supplying food but say the last pub does serve food. If we want to stay over we just need to ask Silverflame but if we are doing that we probably can't decide too late on.
6. If you haven't replied please consider the dates of September ceilidh spots so I can confirm whether or not we can make it!

See you all next week.
