Hello all,
Please find attached AGM minutes, plus action points for individuals that I've tried to pull out from it, but I'm hoping people have fairly good ideas of what they need to do anyway!
Generally there needs to be a hand over of roles- this includes Hannah having access to the info emails and me handing over any ongoing correspondents/organising. I need to take on a lot of info regarding the dance from Katherine!
Tour organisers- plan out the next couple of months of crawls- where they'll happen and who is organising them. Maybe doodle poll potential dates for the pre-DERT crawls.
Kit- can we confirm if we have Janet's kit? Sinead if you read this does your new timetable allow you to come back? If not are we able to have your kit back until you're around to use it again? -Hannorah to find out the price of making a skirt at her local tailors - Laura S have you any thoughts on Westerhope kit? Have a lot more time at this point
Festivals- Hannah to ask re. Bromyard next year and to look into Chippenham - we can invite ourselves so think it would be a good starting point for us!
Longsword - Hannah to create a doodlepoll of potential dates for a longsword practice. One Saturday/ Sunday to give it a go and then see from there how we do
Ffion to send out an email asking inactive members if they still want to be on the email list, delete as appropriate.
My aim is to get to grips with the dance, discuss with Katherine/Ffion any ideas for how to develop Piccadilly. As well as working on the team performing a double jubilee as aim to do this at the showcase.
Westerhope- Laura S to consider plan for Westerhope - AGM discussion re. having a second Westerhoper who can continue the practice on the alternate weeks you're not there but following your plans of what you'd like to work on in the long term (please try and sort this at this coming weeks practice).
I am away for the next week and a bit so am leaving Katherine/Ffion in charge of next weeks practice (sorry Katherine, no retirement for you!) Also as long as Laura S is around I'd like the team to work on Westerhope.
Thanks all,
Becky
Hello all,
Kate won't be around this Monday so if anyone willing can bring an instrument that'd be much appreciated (Ffion this might have to be you as Hannah is away- anyone esle??).
The plan is (hopefully) to work on some new stuff again so shouldn't mean the person is stuck playing all the time.
My brain is melted, not sure if it's jetlag or over exposure to American life! I will try my best on monday but please bear with me, I've had zero thinking time and will only have Sunday to do so as I'm away again.
See you on Monday.
Becky xx
Thank you so much, you are all utterly wonderful. I managed to get to the
hospital in time to see my dad and chat to the doctors, all looks OK for
the moment. Sorry for cutting the Crawl short, hope you had a bit of fun
once I'd left.
Kate

Hello!
Thanks for everyone who turned up yesterday, apologies if the man from Move It was a bit confusing, it was all rather last minute! I hope everything makes sense that he talked about, nothing is decided, if you have any thoughts/concerns please email Katherine who is the main contact for him. Atm we're thinking we wouldn't attempt to run the workshop on the day due to lack of experience, but haven't got much further than that.
Hannorah has been organising the crawl round the strand for this Thursday, watch this space for details. Please arrive at the first pub at 7 ready to dance at 7.30. We're rather minimal numbers so if anyone can't make it for any reason let me know asap as we might have to call the whole thing off.
Can I double check that Sue are you coming? you're a maybe on the sheet? And Hannorah I have mixed opinions on if you're coming or not?
Thank you for everyone for going through hoops in the new way and that display..thingy. I think hoops will look really good and might also tick the box of being another display figure, we'll have a chat next week but if we could get that incorporated into Piccadilly sooner rather than later I think that'd be good!
Trains to Chilham for Laura W.s wedding: Recommend the 15.12 to get in at 16.17 so if other people aimed tog et there for around the same time? The plan is a chilled out meal followed by a mini crawl (three pubs) and the dance at the wedding itself.
Trains to Bristol for their day of dance:The first pub, the Bell, is about 25 mins walk from the station so we would need to get the 9.02 from Paddington arriving 10.54 to Temple Meads. If we get a later train we'll just be too late. Is anyone thinking of driving? Can they share lifts at all?
Thanks all,
Becky

Hello,
At the recent AGM it was decided that we ought to clean up the team mailing list as there are many people on it who are no longer, or have never been, regular members of the team.
If you would like to stay on the team mailing list please reply to this email by 27 October.
If you are currently a regular team member you don't need to respond - there's a list of you at the bottom of this email.
If you haven't been to practice in a while please remember that we're always happy for you to return, just let Becky know so that she can plan practice. If you're no longer interested in dancing with the team then you're still very welcome to join us on a crawl sometime, just for the fun of it. Details are usually posted on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/towerravensrapper) and Twitter (https://mobile.twitter.com/tower_ravens) so make sure you've liked and followed the team's accounts!
Hope to hear from you soon,
Ffion
Regular team members according to the sign up sheet: Becky, Ffion, Hannah, Hannorah, Joanna, Kate, Katherine, Laura S, Laura W, Rachel, Rachel-Anne, Reesha, Sue, Roseanna.
Hi all,
Assuming we have a team (Katherine will confirm) we'll meet this Thursday at a pub called the Old bank of England. It's a fullers pub on Fleet Street. Don't go to Bank! The nearest tube stop is Temple but it's also not far from Charring Cross or Holborn. Please be there at 7 ready to dance at 7.30pm. It's a big pub so I haven't bothered booking a table for eating.
We'll then dance at some of these pubs (a mixture of definite yeses and maybes) ending up at Charring Cross tube:
Ye olde cock tavern
Dalys Wine Bar
The temple bar
The Wellington
Savoy tup
Coal hole
Retro
Theodore bullfrog
See you soon,

Hello all,
I'm aware that the team has a variety of injuries which mean they can't do certain things - if nothing else we have an array of bad shoulders and hips. Is it possible if you have anything that might affect you dancing you could give me a quick email so I know about it?
I know people can struggle mentally and physically, if you know there is anything you find difficult, that it would help me to know about in practice, please do tell me. I don't want to stress anyone out about dancing but I won't necessarily know what will help you worsen your situation! If stepping by yourself brings on a panic attack I'd much rather know than put you in a position you don't feel comfortable with.
Hope that's ok, all helps!

Hi everyone,
At the AGM we decided that we would like to give longsword a go, so would
organise a separate practice on a weekend to try it out. This would be a
one-off practice and would be longer than our usual ones (quite likely to
involve cake...!)
I've just set up two polls for Longsword - the first is to say whether you
are interested in doing Longsword (Yes/No/Maybe options) and the second to
say what dates you might be available for. This includes every Saturday and
Sunday from 8th October until Christmas excluding those dates that we
already have a Ravens event on (apologies if I missed any!).
For now I have just put morning and afternoon as options, we'll work out
the exact times later.
If you are not interested at all please could I ask you to please fill in
the first poll with a 'No' so that I don't chase you for availability...
Interested in Longsword?

Here's a video of Orion Longsword (you might recognise one or two people
from Candyrapper) dancing at Sidmouth. Just to show how longsword can be
made quite different to what we see a lot of.
