Hi all,
Here's a video of the clog dance I was failing to teach.
Ottawa Waltz.MOV
<https://drive.google.com/file/d/1G69uSuL190xmGnkrwJzR6C191qV74qva/view?usp=…>
It's called Ottawa waltz and makes a bit more sense with the music! The
tune is Crested Hen's but I imagine other French Canadian/French tunes
might also work.
I haven't asked for Joan's permission to share this video of her dancing so
best not to share it even further, but I couldn't think of another way of
showing how the dance is done to that tune.
Thanks,
Ellie
Hi All,
Please find the long awaited minutes attached. I've included the full
officer reports which I received in the appendices along with the summary
of actions done/not done from last years AGM and the 2018 EGM. These are
separate for ease of reading, but I will likely combine for the final
version to go on the G Drive
As it is probably a bit tight to read this over by Friday (before I go away
for 2 weeks), I am going to very kindly allow you all until 10th Dec to
raise any queries/amendments etc. Though obviously I am happy to have
comments as soon as you have them :)
Summary of actions below.
Thanks,
Hannah

Ok. After much deliberation I think the best thing is to have westerhope on the 27th Jan and piccadilly on the 3rd.
Let me know asap if there are any issues with this.
There would be no practice on the 26th. Sorry for so much deliberation!

Hello all who have come back to me speedily. Just to mention there are question marks over a couple of crawls now, I'll get these sorted asap.
17th Jan may be the 24th Jan.
21st Feb may be the 22nd Feb.
Any other issues with availability, please let me know asap.
Thanks!
Becky
Hello everyone,
Thanks to everyone who was free yesterday, we had a nice half a practice followed by drinking copious amounts of prosecco!
That's it for practices, so enjoy your time off and we'll meet again next year, Monday 7th Jan.
Plans for next year:
Thank you everyone for filling in the doodle polls so quickly, I'm sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you. As some of you know, Ffion was going to lead on Westerhope but has now been offered a job in Cardiff and is due to move end of Feb time. She was going to dance, so this has skewed the numbers a little and taken more brain power from me!
The plan is still to have Ffion leading for the first couple of months, and then Westerhope will be left in the hands of Jo, probably with experienced helping hands of Rachel and Hannorah (as long as that's ok!). Having not seen everyone in one place I simply haven't been able to talk to everyone properly, but this plan should mean the dance is all planned out by the time Ffion leaves and then it's just a case of neatening it up.
Teams:
Piccadilly will inc. Emma, Hannah N, Laura, Katherine and me. I am keen for there to be understudies, especially as I contribute a dodgy knee!
Westerhope: Rachel, Hannorah, Ellie, Tori, Hannah TD as the main set, 6th dancer yet to be decided. People have various commitments next year so I'm not 100% sure who will be 6th person. This could be the tommy, or a Piccadilly person, or someone who isn't dancing in either set but is coming to DERT. (Clare, as far as I know you couldn't dance with us in Trad as you'll be entering with Warwick??
Dates:
Please let me know asap if any of these dates don't work for you.
Day Practices
Sunday 27th January: both teams (Laura can you check your hall for availability?)
Saturday 23rd Feb: Piccadilly (Hannah N to check church hall)
Saturday 2nd March: Westerhope (Hannah N to check church hall).
If necessary we could have a final day practice 30th/31st March for both teams. (Hannah and Laura check availability but don't book, we will discuss in New Year).
Crawls
Again, please let me know asap if any of these dates don't work. Hannah and Martin, I've assumed you're available as nothing filled in other than a note about March.
Thursday 17th January: Both teams
Thursday 31st January: Westerhope
Friday 1st February: Piccadilly
Friday 8th February: Piccadilly
Thursday 21st February: Piccadilly
Thursday 28th February: Westerhope
Thursday 7th March: Westerhope
Thursday 14th March: Piccadilly
Thursday 21st March: Westerhope
Thursday 28th March: Piccadilly
Martin I know this is particularly intensive for musicians, please confirm if this sounds ok and please check these and the practice dates with Will.
Laura if you can run these dates by Paul to see if he will be able to join us.
Sorry this is so late in the year, please, PLEASE PLLLLEEEAASSSEEE check now rather than later that these dates are all ok, especially if you were a maybe.
Merry Christmas everyone, lots of love.

Thanks to everyone who came on the crawl! Especially to Rachel-anne for doing such a determined job of organising, despite how busy the pubs were. Also extra thanks to Hannah td and Patrick for their extra shouting!
Big woop woop to fliss for her first dance out 😀
I know there are various people who can't make it on Monday. Who has the keys? Ideally we'll do half an hour clog followed by an hour of rapper followed by the pub!
How much money did we make?

Hello all,
Simon can be our Tommy next Friday so we'll stick with that (I really didn't want to change it again!). If anyone has any suggestions for a charity to give to it'd be better to have that sorted sooner rather than later.
These are some fairly obvious ones (all homeless charities doing work in London). It by no means has to be a homeless charity, or indeed London based. We could do something to do with refugees or something else which people will relate to?

All thoughts appreciated 😊

Hi All,
Business coming tomorrow probably, in the mean time DERT...
I think we're all sorted in terms of who is going to DERT, but as I need to
book all our tickets this week, I would like to make sure that no one is
missed out. As mentioned yesterday we don't yet know who is doing what, so
if you were someone who was only going to go if you were doing a specific
thing, could you please assume you are going for now please.Equally if you
are a maybe, please also just say yes. We don't mind having the odd spare
ticket as you never know who is going to come out of the woodwork - and it
is so much easier to not use a ticket/find a random person to take it than
it is to get another one.
So - please check the list below, if you or someone you would like to bring
are not on there and should be - let me know asap. Also if you are on it
and not actually coming, please also let me know.* Deadline for telling me
this info is 12pm on Thursday 13th *(2 days time). At the mo, I think there
will be 18 of us.
Thanks,
Hannah

Hi All,
Sorry I'm a little late with the business email this week...
1. Coming up...
2. Sign-ups
3. AOB
1. Coming up... You should all have seen an email from Rachel-Anne with
where the crawl is, please be ready to start dancing at 1930, so be there
1915. Rachel-Anne has a table booked in the Angelic from 7pm. We decided on
Monday to collect for Centrepoint, a homeless charity that works with young
people. I think Katherine was going to contact them via social media, and
we think their offices are near Tottenham Court Road if there was to be any
official bucket collection.
Monday - I believe the plan is practice for the first half and then an
early trip to the pub!
2. Sign-ups. You should all now have checked my email about DERT (deadline
for changes of info to me passed 4 mins ago), I'm going to finish off our
registration later this afternoon. I'll start figuring out transport and
accommodation soon (though any suggestions for the latter welcome!)
We had a couple of new invites: St Albans Folk Festival 29th June (week
before Kimpton) - seemed as though there was some interest, so this is
going on the sign-up sheet (I've just heard that Flook will be playing
there this year as well). Please note that as a team if we are to do one of
this or Hammersmith, then we should be going to the Hammersmith event - we
can do both though!)
Northwood Morris DoD - which i shall decline.
Ossett Beer Cart, I am going to decline as well, as we don not have enough
people to do this.
I promised not to bug you about sign-ups until the new year, so I won't,
but they are there and will be over Christmas, should you be in need of
something to do at any point. (There are one or two we will need to deal
with by end of Jan.)

3. AOB - Emma sent an email about the Whitby house, not urgent, just if you
didn't get it and were expecting to please let her know.
Thanks,
Hannah
