Hello Tower Ravens
We understand from our friends at Enfield Market that one of your side, Deb Borgan, has been looking for an opportunity to dance at the Market Place.
We're dancing there on Saturday morning 30th April, probably two spots at 11.00 and 12.00, and wondered if you can and would like to join us?
Enfield Market was relaunched last summer and has become a vibrant part of Enfield Town. We danced there last year (I forget when!) and we were well received.
It's not a paid appearance I'm afraid, but there might be a drink in it at the nearby Kings Head.
Please let me know if you're interested. If you are I can sort out the details later.
RegardsJeff

Thanks everyone for your comments so far. I've had another look at the write-up, made some changes, and some new comments. See attached for the reviewed version as edited by both me and Katherine.
Unfortunately this second look has made me notice a few new things:
1. Nikki this will affect you - unfortunately the music from Sword Dance Airs III was actually chosen by Cecil Sharp, and they were not traditional to the dance. This means that we can't use Thro the lang moor or Warkworth Castle. I'm so sorry Nikki for not spotting this earlier. Please refer to the notes for alternatives.
2. The stepping - Please see notes on stepping in the write-up, and please see attachment for Grenoside stepping notation. If anyone can make any sense of it, let me know. If anything, it looks like they are double stepping...
3. I'm changing my mind about the Tommy and Betty issue. Please see write-up for reasons.
And does anyone know what circle guard is???
I'm soooooooooooo knackered. I feel quite ill. If I come tonight, I think I will need to leave early. I'll let you know.
Laura
I need to add in the references at the end and it all needs tidying up a little - but I'm knackered and need to go to bed....
I'll probably do a little more tomorrow if I can, but if you can let me know what you think in the meantime, that would be much appreciated.

Instead of getting blue trousers could we wear our skirts inside out? They've all got blue lining, right? And the top would be covered by the sash. X

I think it sounds pretty good although I think I think explicitly saying we're very similar teams could be avoided, I mean, I know we are, but it sounds a little dull for people to watch? All I'd suggest is very slightly editing to something like this:
'Our guests for the day will be Silver Flame - a female team from Bristol who won the Championship category at DERT 2015. Expect lots of fast spins, exciting tumbles and swishing skirts in a haze of black, purple and blue! If that's not enough we both have charming and confident 'Tommy' characters so the pub punters are bound to be entertained even if a long day's dancing (and drinking) takes its toll on the dancers!'
Very very small change.
After that I don't know how exciting to make it, I think this is good and then we can always big the day up on social media once we've got some more information.

He didn't say how long he wanted it to be. The deadline is 5 March. How are we going to decide on a first pub? I imagine he might want a photo to go with it too. Do we have a specific good one we're using at the moment?

> Tower Ravens is London's premier (also only) female rapper sword dance team. We were formed in the wake of the 2012 London Dance England Rapper Tournament (DERT) and the team has been growing in size and reputation ever since. Most of our performances take place in pubs around London on the last Thursday of every month. During the last four years we have also been invited to take part in festivals (such as Tenterden and Leigh on Sea), many Morris sides' Days of Dance and of course Thrales rapper's annual November Day of Dance.
>
> Having enjoyed many other teams' hospitality we decided it was time to organise our own Day of Dance! The day will take place on Saturday 16 April and will be a long pub crawl taking in some of our favourite central London establishments. We will begin at 1pm(?) at the x pub and will likely visit Euston road, Holborn and Fitzrovia. A full itinerary will be published online closer to the time.
>
> Our guests for the day will be Silver Flame - a female team from Bristol who won the Championship category at DERT 2015. Like Tower Ravens their kit is mostly black but they accent it with a purple sash and purple Doc Martins! Our two teams have relatively similar dance styles so expect lots of fast spins, exciting tumbles and swishing skirts. We both also have charming and confident 'Tommy' characters so the pub punters are bound to be entertained even if a long day's dancing (and drinking) takes its toll on the dancers!
