1. Sign-ups. Please could everyone take a look at the sign-up sheet for our
2018 potential bookings, particularly for:
- 17th Feb: Silver Flame have invited us on a crawl after we had such
fun with them when they came to London last year
- 25-28 May Chippenham (see sign-up sheet for details) - basically if
we want to go I need to do some form filling imminently. Please try to
respond by 24th October absolute latest (before is preferable). We had fun
last time, so if we do go, we should maybe try to stay a bit longer than
just a day.
- 16-18 June Beverley Folk Festival - this is last years invite
deferred as it was a bit late notice last time. It would be really good to
go. It's a really nice festival and the dance teams are organised by a
rapper dancer so should be pretty good for us! (It's also really easy to

Whilst you're there, if you are a maybe for the potential crawl dates of
either the 19th Oct or 26th Oct, could you see if you could make it a yes
or a no instead please? It will only be one of these dates in case you are
worried about having to do 2 in a row!
2. Ffion's Album Launch. Ffion's band The Foxglove Trio have released an
album! The launch is in Unity Hall, Islington. Doors at 7, music from 7.45
with a joint Thrales and Ravens rapper dance at some point! If you are
dancing (you know who you are!) - just a reminder that you need to be there
at 6 for a run-though. Change into kit afterwards.

Thanks for various bits of feedback for the stepping practice dates. I'll recap at business and try and go from there for which suits the most people.
7.15 for clog runthrough. A couple of us went to Camden practice as they are doing the same waltz and John has taught the third step with the bananas as straight not bent (if that makes sense). I think it looks better as well as potentially being more accurate so we'll do that first to see what everyone thinks.
The first half we'll focus on Jubilee and Westerhope, depending who we have maybe piccadilly but that's probably a long shot. The second half I would like to focus on the Foxglove trio dance for this Saturday. Anyone not involved in this is free to leave after business as we may well not move onto anything else.

1.We need to reschedule the September crawl, and from the looks of the
sign-up sheet the October one as well. I have added 12th and 19th October -
those of you that filled the doodle in for the 12th, I've copied your
response across, but please double check anyway. Please fill the potential
October crawl dates in asap.
Whilst you're there, please fill in anything else you haven't already done
so. Please especially look at Chippenham, as if we would like to go we need
to do something about this soon. Details on the sign-up sheet. (link below)
Emma, Hannah and Anna I've hopefully added you on to the list for
everything now, so feel free to sign-up to anything you would like to.
Hannah - are you ok being Hannah TD on there? If not shout and let me know
- guess I'm going to have to add an 'N' to mine at some point to help avoid
confusion!
2. Skirts - Could we all try to remember to bring our skirts with us on
Monday please? Then those without kit can try them on to work out whether
any could be used as a template... Kate is going to see what she has in
stock in case any of that can be used (might only be 1 maybe 2 skirts
though...).
3. Shoes - hopefully everyone should have had the link for this if they
need it. I also need some new shoes, and seeing as I think there are a few
of us, it's probably worth trying to get them soled in a batch (maybe we
can get a discount?). So, if we can all try to get them soon-ish then I can
see about getting them all done together (that includes me remembering to
buy some too..)

Hello all,
30th October stepping practice might need to be rescheduled to the 20th November. Can anyone who is concerned with their stepping (either to make it Ravens style or just figure out any odd foibles we might have!) check the date. I also need to double check with Thrales that they're to lose Jon (Ru's husband) so knowing by Monday would be great just so it can be fixed in the diary.

I'm actually coming tonight (yay).
Absentees: Laura W, Jo and Hannorah. Is there anyone else I've missed?
Things I would like to work on tonight:
New people in Jubilee, continue stylistic work, having each of them dance with a more experienced set to see if it feels different.
Westerhope work to give us more confidence, we can do this dance we just do it so irregularly we lack confidence and then go wrong! For dance around the world I'd like Rachel-Anne to do 5, obviously let me know if that doesn't sound ok.
Piccadilly I'd like to have Rachel and Rachel-Anne have some work on this. If Katherine could do 4 for some actual dancing? (Hip allowing). For Dance Around the World Katherine will need to be 1 so ideally we'll start working through that this week or next. If it's today Ffion would need to step in at 4.
Hope that all makes sense. Any cloggers please turn up a bit early so we can run through the waltz a couple of times.

Hello all,
Just a recap meeting tomorrow at 11.45 in kit at the Albert memorial (basically opposite the Albert Hall in Hyde Park).
Please note it's a good idea to bring water and probably food, there are some cafes in the park but not sure we'll have much time to stop at them so a packed lunch might help!
I will endeavour not to breathe on anyone tomorrow!

P.s. with there being a variety of new people I've been talking to Ru about having her come to help uniform our stepping. She has suggested 30th October Monday practice, can people, especially those who know their stepping needs to be more Ravens Style or if you have specific problems check to see if they are available? I'll mention it again on Monday 😊

Apologies that I'm not up to dancing tomorrow, I think all things considered it's better to cancel. We'd already had Martin stand in for Kate and Hannorah would struggle to get there. Without a 1 it would make it hard work for everyone and probably lead to some naff dancing. I'll create a doodle poll to see if we can reschedule within the next week or so and go from there.
I'm really sorry to let the side down at short notice.

1. Upcoming Events - Crawl on Thurs - keep an eye out on emails for this as
to whether it happens/new info if it does
- Belles Day of Dance - Sunday 1st October. We will be starting at 12 at
the Albert Memorial in Kensington Gardens. If we could all be there by 1145
in kit that would be appreciated - even though we're likely to be on
"Morris Time". See the attached for more info on all the spots and the
flyer for the event as well (I'll work out public transport options for
travel so we don't have to walk if we don't want to / can find a pub..).
The weather forecast has deteriorated a bit since I checked it yesterday
morning (though since this morning the rain has moved earlier in the day,
so could still improve!) - if the weather is really bad then the day might
be cancelled - we should know by 10am, so please check your emails before

2. New invites - completely forgot this one on Monday - Silver Flame
invited us to join them for a crawl at some point. February and Post-DERT
both being options. I had meant to ask if anyone had any particular
feelings about those options, so come prepared with thoughts if you have
any on Monday. Post-DERT would give us something to work towards after
DERT, though sometimes there are fewer of us around immediately after.
3. Other sign-ups - if you haven't recently checked the sign-up sheet
please do - still got some no-replies for the October, November and
December crawls.

Hello all,
So, I still feel full of cold and am generally moping about feeling like my head is full of gunk. I don't think think I'll be up to much dancing, and certainly not calling. On that note it looks as if I'm the only number 1, unless we have ffion (unpractical and potentially not wanting to do it!) at 1 and no tumble.
Saying that my brain is not working at max capacity. Does anyone have any bright ideas? I know ffion has had trouble getting pubs to say yes and it would seem rather unfair to say ee couldn't do it at all.
Sorry all, I seem to be doomed to be sickly :-(
