Hi All,
Really looking forward to seeing you all next week! I suggest meeting on
York Bridge (possibly just off to the side in the park) at 2pm on Sunday
30th and then seeing where we can find a good place to sit / walk. We'll
share location for anyone who needs to join after that so you know where we
are. I'm not sure where the busiest parts of the park are on a Sunday...
🚂 York Bridge is the entrance roughly half way between Regents Park and
Baker Street tube stations; there is a santander cycles docking station in
the park just off York Bridge; and there are several buses that run along
Euston Road/Marylebone road and probably other useful places.
Hopefully easy enough for you all to get there.
See you soon!
Hannah ☺
Hi folks,
Didn't want to interrupt tonight's chat but wanted to acknowledge the proposed change in rules for May 17th.
30 people can meet outside so please do fill in hannahs doodle re. Availability for a ravens meet up somewhere!
I was surprised to see we can now hug? Although advises caution etc. It made me wonder re. Getting back dancing, even outside but I'm not clear what the implications of the rules are, nevermind how individuals would feel. So, I'm going to suggest we wait for advise from jmo/similar and stick to aiming for a social!
Hope that sounds ok, happy to chat but think we're still better to be cautious than dive back in before its really safe to do so.

Hello Ravens!
In theory from 17th May we'll hopefully be able to have up to 30 of us
outdoors, so I've created a list of all the Saturday and Sundays for about
5 weeks to see if there is a date that suits everyone (I miss all your real
life faces!). Given dispersal probably a central one (maybe Regents Park?
open to suggestions) and afternoon to give plenty of time for waking up and
getting home after... exact times TBC ☺ Obviously we'll only do this if it
is safe and sensible to do so at the time.
Please fill in doodle below:

I've shared an item with you:

Hi everyone,
As discussed yesterday, here's the emergency contact list. Please fill it
in with the details of any person you would like the team to contact in the
event of an emergency.
I hope everyone can access this and edit it. Please let me know if not.
Thanks!

Hi All,
Minutes from our "post DERT" discussion the other day. I guess the key
thing anyone who wasn't able to make it might be interested in is our plan
for return to dancing when we are able. In summary, we need restrictions on
social distancing to end in order for us to practice - currently the
earliest this would be is 21st June. Following this, we would aim to do a
crawl, noting that we may have to dance outside pubs at times depending on
their opinions on it and any requirements at the time. Once we have had a
crawl we can then look at events again, and will register interest in going
to Bath Time at the end of October.
We would also want to check in with how people are feeling regarding this
in case anyone has any concerns nearer the time. If you do, please let me
or Becky know in the first instance.
While we still can't practice, we could potentially have the odd stepping
practice within the guidelines - at the moment this is limited to 6 people
(so 5 dancers and 1 musician). I will keep a close eye on guidelines if we
do this, and the Morris Fed have a really helpful risk assessment to help
organise this safely.
Otherwise, obviously we can meet socially! Once groups of 30 are allowed
we'll organise an en masse Ravens meeting in a park somewhere. However, if
you want to hang out with up to 6 ravens, please do - the spreadsheet we
had last year is still around
<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZlZ9QoJTF0C7c_suG4SWp7TVYG02HrQvGf-…>,
although I think about 6 ravens have moved houses/are about to move house
so it possibly needs updating. You don't have to have a whole postcode, you
can just pop your general location in (e.g. Stockwell) which might help
with working out who is nearby, who might be willing to travel in a
favourable direction!
Hope you're all having a lovely week and hope to see some in person faces
at some point soon!
Monday night zooms will obviously also continue!

Hi guys,
I originally put this in as an EGM, but really don't think it is quite that, more just a good touch point in the year. Here are things I'd like to discuss, but if you have stuff to add please just say!
1. DERT -
* Please check DERT comments using login info which Hannah provided. We might like to highlight comments which don't match the criteria and where it appears we were docked marks. The website seems to be a pain but try googling Dert info and go in that way.
* Feedback from the Sunday morning meeting inc. plans for DERT next year.
2. Getting back dancing
* Opportunity to discuss plans for getting back dancing safely, raising concerns etc. This will not be definitive but I hope will get us started.
* Social plans - if we can't dance we could at least look at gathering safely in a park or similar.
3. DERT 2024
* Thrales have been in touch to say they have told DERT steering group they are interested in hosting DERT in London for 2024 and would like to know if we would like to make it a joint effort.

Hi All,
Just putting a couple of things here so you can find them easily. Hopefully
details for anything you are interested should appear on the facebook page.
I'll try and keep an eye out...
*Saturday*
- Tomorrow stuff kicks off at 10 with some kind of welcome (am assuming
via the facebook page <https://www.facebook.com/rappertournament/>).
Then every 15mins after that an entry will be released and if you really
want you can judge them all! Our video is supposed to come out at 1145
- *Saturday Showcase 1730-2000*, not sure what this entails, but suspect
you'll find out on facebook.
- *Awards / Results 2000-2115*. Becky will be representing us, but it
all gets streamed via YouTube so we can all see
- So as soon as that concludes, at 2115 (ish) let's all *zoom* and
celebrate/do many rounds of we woz robbed etc. Rachel-Anne has even created
a* cocktail menu* with all eventualities. Please feel free to consume
any of these at any point! Cocktail recipes attached and zoom link at the
bottom (thanks Clare!)🍸
- At some point during the day our scores will come out (but we won't
know where we place or what anyone else's score are until the results -
possibly here: http://www.dertinfo.co.uk/dertofderts
*Sunday*
- DERT meeting at 10, Becky is going, but if you have a question they'd
like them all submitted via this google form

Hiya,
Here are the bullet point notes from last Monday's chat about how to stay
safe when out dancing.
Despite the continuing shitshow that is life for women, I'm glad we were
able to make something positive and support each yet again! Go Ravens fam!
Katherine has done a social post for twitter and facebook, where there's
already some discussion from other dancers - great news. And there's a post
on insta too.
Thanks everyone!

Hello all,
As you may have seen on whatsapp, tonight's zoom probably won't be as fun but seems an important theme to discuss. In the wake of Sarah Everard's murder and the general conversations around women's safety I'd like to suggest some time to reflect on the week we've just had and if there is anything more we can do to make each other feel safe on crawls.
1. Time to vent - I'm sure I'm not the only one that has found the last week angering, saddening and confusing. If you want to voice this, you can!
2. How can we proactively look out for each other on crawls.
3. Any top tips on how can help each other remain and feel safe on the walk home.
I want to emphasise that this is not about majorly altering our behaviour or giving into some fear. I remain unapologetic of our behaviour and, when we get back on crawls, fully intend to drink too much, draw attention to ourselves, wear an array of blue sparkly accessories and generally disrupt people's evenings.
Obviously, this kind of topic can be a bit of a trigger and there is absolutely no pressure to join this conversation. If you have suggestions but can't come tonight, please just send me a message 🙂
Here's the link for tonight (thanks again Clare!)

Good afternoon ravens,
As discussed in the whatsapp I'll be organising a mostly-cider tasting
evening on Friday 5th March.
Here's a spreadsheet for all the coordinated fun. I've listed some rounds
of drinks - feel free to join in for as many as you wish. The rounds are
themed so please use this as inspiration for your drink choice. It's mostly
cider based but also designed to be broad enough to interpret for non-cider
drinkers. I've suggested some examples and also what I'll be drinking. If
you'd like to you can enter what you want to drink and people can either
choose to match someone else or do something different.
Hope that all makes sense and hope to see you there! I'll send zoom details
closer to the time.

Hi All,
Thought we could have a game of "In the sword bad there is...". The idea
being that the first person says "in the sword bag there is [insert thing
beginning with A]", the next then has "in the sword bag there is [insert
thing beginning with A], and [insert thing beginning with B]" etc.
So maybe vaguely think about things we might have on a rapper crawl / at a
festival - and they don't actually need to be physically capable of fitting
in the sword bag as this one is definitely a Mary Poppins one...
And if we get bored of that we can just chat. Meeting link below.
"See" you tomorrow!

Hello folks,
I've just spent some time looking at the most recent videos of us to send as our entry to DERT this year. To me it makes sense to make them as recent as possible because you'd hope we've continued to get better over time. I've selected 3 videos from 2019 DERT, in the google doc Hannah created.
Please have a look and let me know which you think is best, or if there are any great videos I've missed. I haven't considered facebook!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1a4Lp1z14sJV5pq5d3amVNZ6JrVpedwbcBaS…
There are other videos from DERT and surrounding time, but I've discounted them due to errors.
Miss dancing with you all so much it hurts. Here's to epic rapper reunions!
Becky xx
Hello!
Following on from Rachel-Anne's lovely DERT 2020 memories, the news you've
all been waiting for! DERT 2021 registration is open!
We have 3 weeks to select a video to submit - obvs pre-recorded!
They would like a video from a previous DERT main competition or Spotlight
competition filmed from the front (as near as possible) with the whole
dance visible (swords and feet).
*Please pop a link to the best Ravens dance you can find into the following
spreadsheet by 20th February,* then we can vote on the contenders/bow to
our leader's choice over that weekend and send our submission in.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1a4Lp1z14sJV5pq5d3amVNZ6JrVpedwbcBaS…
The videos will be judged by a team of official judges will score us and
submit comments. On 27th March everyone will get to see the videos and can
judge if they like - so if you every fancied yourself a DERT judge, now is
your chance! Later in the day collated results will come out for who the
judges say officially won; the people's choice results will come out; and
the traditional "We Woz Robbed" can begin.
Sunday will bring some talks from the rapper community (I believe one will
feature Martin) and the DERT meeting will be held via Zoom. Am sure we can
find a suitable location for "hungover breakfast" before getting "trains
back to London"...
More info on it all here:
http://www.dertinfo.co.uk/dertofderts/howtoenter
Have a lovely week.

Hiya,
I said I would send around some of the "archive" work I've been doing over
the last little while. Here is the special journal entry for DERT 2020.
Please forgive any little errors - converting a word doc to a pdf was a
right arse on!
ENJOY!

Hello,
To make this an evening of organised Ravens fun details, here is my plan
for next week's Zoom :D
Inspired by the excellent QI podcast No Such Thing As A Fish, I thought
that we could do No Such Thing As A Raven, which requires a little bit of
homework. Please bring your favourite quite interesting fact, ideally one
which you have learned this week. For example, last week I learned that
Barack Obama used 22 pens for one signature when signing Obamacare into law
(source

Dearest Ravens,
I'd love for you to join me in toasting my new house this Friday at 7:30 🥳
We mentioned a few weeks ago having more drinky zoomy times on a similar
schedule to when we'd normally crawl. So to emulate the pub crawl
experience I thought we could tour round my house, changing room (and
refreshing drinks!) every half an hour or so. To join me in this you could:
- also move room/space/orientation with me
- have a new drink (alcoholic or not) every new room/space
- put your hoodie and coat on just before we move room, then take them both
off again once we get to the next room
- ignore all this silly nonsense and simply enjoy the view
If you would like to bring a game or other entertainment please feel free!
Dress code is fancy or whatever you fancy :)
Here's the zoom details (thanks Clare!), I'll post them again on WhatsApp
on Friday.
