Hi guys,
So sorry I can't make it tonight, I have managed to catch another cold (stupid boyfriend).
Hope you all have a great Christmas and New Year!!
Helen x
Amazing! Well done everyone :-) a very rocky start but just shows what a bit of determination achieves.
Think sue has some good points to consider re. Points for the new year.
In the mean time I'll see some of you tomorrow. Can people bring festive treat and any cheeky booze treats you fancy? Believe Katherine is providing plastic cups!
Becky xx

We made £200.16 😊😊😊😊😊
Mostly, I think, in the last 3 pubs.
Which begs the questions: is it worth trying (and risk failing) to start at 7.30 in Islington?is there an ideal start time in each individual area we visit?did it make a difference collecting for a charity?
The first pub was very busy at 7pm but by the time we started dancing at 8, many of the punters had left. The pubs were full again by 10pm and the punters' generosity greatly increased. A bit of a dilemma really, because not all of us want to have a late night on a Thursday. I didn't get home until 12.40 as it was.
Could someone please put the amount on Twitter/Facebook if possible? I rashly promised some of the punters that we would publish the amount.
Anyway, well done everyone, including our loyal supporters! It looks as if we can send a nice round £200 to St Mungo's, if everyone agrees that is appropriate. We could also afford to donate a little more if we choose, but that isn't my decision to make. We currently have £1450+ in the bank, including Thursday's collection, but we have DERT accommodation to think about and £35 due to Open Morris next month.
Wishing you all a lovely relaxing break and lots of fun times to come in 2016.

Hi All
The one & only Dilke has done a fantastic job of securing pubs for the crawl on Thursday. Laura W also did some great work in her maiden pub-securing outing & helped nail even more pre-practice tonight.
So we have up to 15 establishments either secured or likely. The route will be something like this. The times are very approximate:
1. The Nags Head, Upper St -
meet from 7, 1st at 7.30
2. The York, Islington High Street - 8
3. Steam Passage (if there's room), Upper St - 8.15
4. Radicals & Victuallers (tbc), Upper St 8.30
5. Slug & Lettuce, Upper Street 8.46
6. The Bull, Upper Street 9.00
7. John Salt (tbc), Upper Street 9.15
8. The Taproom Upper Street (tbc) - 9.30
9. Hope & Anchor, Upper Street - 9.45
10. The New Rose, Essex Road 10.00
11. The Old Queens Head, Essex Road 10.15
12. The Kings, Essex Road 10.30
13-16 Possibly The Camden Head, The Winchester, The Wenlock & Essex and even The Vinyard. If we need extras locations.
I know the amount of pubs sounds ambitious, but given it's the week before Xmas we may have to miss some out if they're too crowded.
See you then
H
Good find Sue. St Mungo's are a very good charity.
Have a fabulous Christmas everyone!
Love Nic xxx

Hi Guys
Here is one suggestion for a homeless charity, although there are almost certainly many more and just as worthy. Haven't had time to scour their website, but I believe they have a scheme whereby you can report (anonymously or not) anyone on the street who you may be worried about; they will send someone to investigate and help.

Hello all,
I meant to send thia on Tuesday and forgot. Next weeks crawl money will be donated to charity. If you would like to select one please come prepped to talk about it on monday/email your suggestions. I think the aim was to avoid member associated charities simply because it either gets very split or people feel let down. The idea was maybe a homeless charity or something to do with the church. All suggestions welcome however!

Hey y'all
I am really sorry I couldn't make practice this week, the mountain of work
carried me away with it (only just emerged from it). I hope you got some
useful work done on Westerhope.
Now for some exciting admin:
*1. Day of Dance.* Unless anyone lets me know they object, we will invite
Sliver Flame to dance with us. I am only planning to invite one team. There
has been mixed response to the suggested dates so I reckon trying
to coordinate with 1 other team will be much easier than 2. It also means
there will be more chance for both teams to dance.
*2. Practices **21st Dec*- Is anyone available for this practice? If
so, how about a social chat/food in the church instead?
*28th Dec*- NO practice
*4th Jan*- There will be practice. From the doodle poll responses I reckon
we should have a team obviously if your availability changes let me know.
*11th Jan-* Ru's follow up stepping practice.
*3. Summer!*We talked at the AGM about wanting to get some
festival bookings over the summer. However, to do this we need to be in
contact with people and 'seen' by organisers and teams (in both a literal
and figurative sense).
To this end, I've put together some festivals we can invite ourselves to
(Chippenham, Ossett and Potties) and some we could dance at as an uninvited
team. Please have a look at the dates/events and let me know what you
think, *a response (of any kind) will be really useful *in deciding which
of these it would be worth targeting.
This is also a working progress, I'm still investigating festivals and if
you have any ideas or events you think should be added to the list don't
hesitate to let me know :)

Have a great week and see you on Monday :)

Hi all,
I am trying to look into accommodation for DERT, I've found a premier inn not far from the evening do but to investigate prices for more than 4 rooms I have to fill out a query form etc. Before I do this and waste their time can I get everyone to check their availability, in particular I'm considering the people have not yet said they are going to DERT including:
Janet, Nikki, Reesha, Sinead
Nikki I am 99% sure you're going (I hope!) and I presume would want a double room with Ozzy?
Janet and Sinead?
And is anyone thinking of bringing other halves with them?
At the moment everyone else has said they are going, if you do NOT want me looking at accommodation for you because you have other options there let me know asap.
Thanks,
B xx
Hi allIf I have the date right I can do some pub visiting on Thursday 10th if contacted. I am not allowed to join yet obeying physio instructions. Just have loads of exercises.Have fun Janet x

Hello all,
Sorry this is very late on but anyone that gets a chance to look at this before 5.30 OR if you can bring your diaries to practice please can you all fill in ASAP availability on crawls in Jan/Feb in lead up to DERT, as well as the April alternative dates for our day of dance.
Hannorah gave me dates for crawls ages ago and I totally forgot to put them up for everyone to sign up to. We need to know if these work for people as soon as possible so we can figure out alternative dates if possible.
For April's invite to a team we want to get the invitation out before Christmas so we need to know which dates suit us best!
Also please remember to look at the doodlepoll that Katherine sent round re. day practices and the like:
Around christmas: http://doodle.com/poll/h7zaagmug22rxterDay practices: http://doodle.com/poll/wz79a5mm98547u38
Think that is all.
See you later xx
Sue has very helpfully pointed out that I have been looking at Saturday, not Sunday, times.
Please try and get the tube at 9.45 or 10.05 should 9.45 not be possible for you.
Thanks and sorry for misinforming everyone!
B xx
Hello all,
So travel for Sunday, we need to be there BY 12 for dancing so ideally more like 11.30ish.
I can see trains from Paddington you'd be best to leave at 10.30 to get in at 11.37. otherwise you'll get in at 12 which, the station being about 10 minutes walk away is really too late.
Oxford Tube from Victoria says it takes about 1 hour 40 (traffic dependent) so we want the 9.50 or the 10.05- Katherine what do you think?
See you then!
B x
Hello all!
Thanks to speedy replies from hannorah and jo we do have a team for sunday. Dancing starts at 12 so we need to be there from around 11.30. I will have a look at trains and oxford tubes and suggest times.

I'm not feeling very well so am not going into work today. I know it's late
notice but if you could bring instruments along that'd be great.

OK, so we have:
Ffion £111.11
Hannah. £115.67, 2 Euro and a button
Martin £120 and 50 cents
Rachel. £121
Katherine £129
Sue £130
Becky £154
Laura. £160
I'm delighted to say that we were all wrong but Laura was closest.
We collected the magnificent sum of £203.90 plus one Czech Coruna and a daffodil badge 😊 This beats our previous record by £20 and isn't far behind what we collected in Islington with the help of Thrales and the mighty Simon V.
Waterloo is turning out to be our most lucrative hunting ground. So South London isn't all that bad after all!
Fantastic work everyone!

Hello all!
Looking forward to the crawl tonight :)
Thank you for everyone responding to the December crawls, we'll look at numbers and let you know ASAP which looks like the best night.
Re. Mabel Day, as mentioned in practice the easiest way is to get the Oxford Tube, most people go from Victoria but see attached website for details. The whole thing is actually more expensive than I remember it being! But please note you can get discount depending on age and the like. I'm sure we can look into travel subs if people want it/need it :)
http://www.oxfordtube.com/tubefares.aspx
New invite!Laura W. has very excitingly invited us to dance at her wedding next October :) I believe we are being tempted by free booze and obv. love of Laura! It's happening in Chilham near Canterbury, which has it's own train station and takes either 1 or 2 hours depending on if it is a slow or fast train. The fast trains are more expensive but if we decide in advance I doubt it'll make much difference and we can probably book group tickets which is cheaper anyway.
Although it's a long way in advance I'd have thought if we can commit sooner rather than later it'd help Laura out.

Hi all,
I can't be at practice on Monday so here's an update of where we're up to with the next crawl.
We'll meet at the Crown and Cushion - nearest tube is Lambeth North but it's not far from Waterloo either. The last pub is right by Waterloo so easy to get home from. The first pub does Thai food, recommended by Becky and Laura W, and maybe non-Thai food as well. Here's the route:
Crown and Cushion - yesThe Walrus Bar & Hostel - yesHorse and stable - I'm waiting to hear from the managerThe Flowers of the Forest - yesStage Door - I still need to ask The Windmill - yesThe Wellington - Janet is waiting to hear from the managerHole in the wall - yes
I've also just made a facebook event - https://www.facebook.com/events/1660402827549797/ Laura, please edit as you wish!
Thanks to Janet for doing half of the pubs!
See you there,
Ffion x
