Hi guys,
I've got a stinking cold 😷 so won't be coming along later. Nice work on the crawl and look forward to seeing the neckerchiefs!
See you soon
Laura W
Did it occur to anyone else that our kit is the same colours as '#thedress' that had everyone talking a couple of weeks ago? Y'know 'white & gold or black & blue?'
Sue - there's got to be a Tommy joke in here somewhere.

Hi everyone,
For the crawl this Friday we'll meet at the Charles Dickens pub (160 Union Street, nearest station Southwark) at 7 for 7.30. They do food but I was there just before 7 last Friday and there weren't any tables free so let me know if you'd like me to try and book a table if you want to go there for tea. Here's the full list of the possible pubs. Bold means a definite yes, the others are 'yes if there's space' and many of these have outside spaces we could use if it's not raining:
Charles Dickens
The white hart
Union Jack
The Crown
The Anchor and hope
Prince William Henry
Rose & Crown
Dr Ink
Thirsty Bear
The Mulberry
I'm hoping to be able to confirm some more inside ones before Friday.
See you then,
Ffion x
Hi,
I'm sorry but I've overextended my arm & stretched a muscle. I'll be ok for tomorrow, but to make sure I don't make anything worse I'm going to skip the crawl tonight.
Sorry,Sinéad
Hi,
I'll be bringing a packed lunch because I don't think Wetherspoons serve anything I can eat. I think that sounds like a good discussion.
Good luck tonight,
Sinead

Hi Sinead,
Sorry to hear you've hurt yourself. Hope you feel better soon!
Everyone else... Sinead
and I had already discussed whether it was a wise to do Westerhope tonight,
given that it would have to include several new dance people (who don’t really
know it that well!) and we thought about doing new dance and jubilee instead.
How do you all, especially Janet and Reesha, feel about that?
Whilst I'm emailing, a couple of things about tomorrow - we haven't decided what to do about lunch. Last week we went to Whetherspoons but we could also do packed lunch or Sainsburys if you prefer. Last week we used the lunch break to have a useful discussion about the Tommy routine. I'd like to suggest that tomorrow we discuss Tommy and what, if any, kit alterations we want to make for Westerhope. This needs to be led by the notation, which Sinead has a good understanding of.

Hello Ravens,
I'm just getting quotes from a couple of places. I'm still waiting on one quote, but I've had a very reasonable quote from Hoody World. They said that they can do the print on the back, and a print of the logo on the front for £20 inclusive of VAT. Or, if you want a print on the back, and embroidery logo on the front, it will be £23 inclusive of VAT.I'm not sure what people's preferences are for a printed or embroidered logo...?
Also, I was checking the differences between the unisex hoody and the women's hoody, and please see the following:http://hoodyworld.co.uk/hoodies/unisex-zipped-hoodyhttp://www.pro…
The women's hoody will come up quite short - because of this I'm not entirely sure if it will be suitable as an over-garment. Therefore, I'm advising that we actually go for the unisex, but will wait for group feedback before making a decision.
Finally, bearing all this in mind, I would now like to start taking numbers and measurements from everyone.
So, to repeat:Please let me know whether you would prefer a printed or embroidered logo on the frontPlease let me know your preference for women's or unisex hoody (I advise unisex)Let me know if you'd like to order a hoody for yourself, and please supply your chest measurement.
If you would like a hoody, please let me know before this Monday 9th March, and please let me know your chest size in inches.
THANK YOU.
:)
Hi all,
I've been into 18 pubs and have had 4 definite yeses, 6 maybes/ places I need to go back to or phone to speak to the manager, 4 which said we could dance outside if it's too busy inside, 1 yes if there's space and 3 nos/carpets. If I don't get any more yeses I could potentially go back over some of the ones we did on the Lambeth North to Waterloo crawl, although that would mean more walking. Anyone got any other bright ideas? How do you feel about dancing outside in March on the pavement?
Laura, the four yeses, in case you want to put them on facebook are: Charles Dickens, The Crown, Dr Ink and The Thirsty Bear.
See (some of) you tomorrow for some intense new dance work, plus a Tommy discussion - remember to email me your brilliant jokes in advance if you won't be there in person!

1. Change of area for next crawl2. Motley Morris and Greenwich Morris dance out in Greenwich- 17th June3. Sunday 29th March- Downes on Tour near South Bank.
1. Please note next Friday's crawl will be in Waterloo, not Farringdon. Ffion is organising so expect pub updates in the next week.
2. I keep talking about Motley Morris wanting us to dance out with them! The best dates for them and Greenwich Morris is the 17th June- this is a Wednesday night in Greenwich- if I could get some responses to that ASAP that'd be much appreciated!
3. Sunday 29th March, this has been on the signup sheet for aaaages- this would be nice to go to, and although we couldn't do the new dance (don't quite have the right numbers) we could potentially do Westerhope! I think people involved in that are mainly maybes atm, so could you please check and let me know? Jubilee would also be good to do out :)
Please please sign up here!https://docs.google.com/document/d/11XHQc6j0g7HQto7rhOs6k0bfkw-XmFb8jm…

Hello all,
1. This Saturday New Danc2. Saturday 14th Westerhope3. Easter practice4. Dancing in Greenwich5. Pay Sue for tickets!
1. So just to confirm, new dance practice this Saturday, 10.30-4 with a pub lunchbreak and a tommy discussion.
2. Westerhope practice on the 14th- this is now confirmed 10.30-4, apparently the bishop needs it in the evening! I've said we could leave a little earlier if necessary but fingers crossed we won't need to.Sinead maybe you want to send an email of exactly who you'd like for this? If the details for who was available are up to date we should have enough for two teams. We'd like the set of people who have mainly worked on it, plus a set to learn it as back up for practices, crawls and emergency competition. Depending how long it takes to learn the second team may get to slope off early :)
3. Easter practice will NOT happen on Easter Monday but Tuesday 7th instead.
4. Motley Morris and Greenwich Morris have come back saying they could do a dance out in Greenwich 10/6 or 17/6 this isn't the date we'd said but if people could check for next week? Ffion shall I put 17th on spreadsheet as closer to standard crawl date?
5. If we got you train tickets to DERT and back you owe Sue £36.95- you should have payment details from a previous email- please get the money to her ASAP.
Thanks!
Becky
RIGHT EVERYONE!
Finally ready to show and tell. I've been working on the design for the TR hoodies, and it's ready to send off for some quotes. Please see attached images to get an idea of what it's going to look like.
It will be the design on the left. As you can see, it is slightly textured (as compared with the design on the right). This is intentional, and should hopefully give it a nice hand-made quality. Unless anyone really strongly objects, I'll be going with the textured. Don't worry about the legibility of the design - it'll be larger than A3 and should be completely legible.
I think black hoodies with blue print is the way to go. Is everyone happy with the shade of blue?
Then, so that the logo is in-keeping, I've drawn that out too. I hope people don't mind that I've changed the font so it is similar to that used on the back of the hoody.
As for the hoodies, depends on where we get them done, but do people want fitted womens hoodies, or baggier ones?
That's all for now. I hope you like the design. Apologies for not getting this done sooner, and because of time probably means I won't be able to make any serious changes in time for DERT. But if there is something major, let me know ASAP!

Hi all,
Simon was very kind to film three of our dances on the Thursday crawl and he's put them on our youtube channel as unlisted. Here are the links:
New dance 1: http://youtu.be/QMre7fX53II
New dance 2: http://youtu.be/l_u7gnbReo8
Westerhope: http://youtu.be/XOIYQfu2YIA
As I said on Thursday - lots of good stuff, lots to work on!
For the next few weeks I'd like to try and organise the practices as follows:
1) Stepping, particularly focussing on Westerhope and double. We'll get the iPad out again soon and do some comparison videos.
2) Work in new dance / Westerhope sets.
3) Business.
4) Double (if possible, two singles if not) Jubilee.
5) Tumbling for those who are learning. I believe this is Becky, Laura S, Reesha, Hannorah and Laura W. Anyone else? The rest of us can do extra Westerhope or stepping work.
6) Dance through new dance / Westerhope.
On Saturday we'll finishing working through the points on the spreadsheet so we know exactly what we're aiming for with each figure. We haven't decided yet what we're doing about timings for the day but I'd like to suggest that we have a lunchtime discussion about the Tommy routine. Sue is a great Tommy and is getting more and more confident and commanding all of the time! She's got several lines she uses on every crawl, but if anyone has ideas for Tommy moves, lines or jokes please bring them on Saturday or email them through before then.
See you later,
Ffion x
I was so disappointed with our collection on Thursday because we didn't seem to collect very much in any pub. But I couldn't have been more wrong.
I've just reluctantly counted it and I'm astonished! We made £131.91 plus several Czech Korunas, Euros, UAE and Caribbean coins, which is absolutely fantastic. Well done, Hannorah! You were closest with £53 😄😄😄
By way of comparison, we made £78 and £87 on our last two tours of Holborn.
Well done everyone and a special thank you to everyone who collected so successfully, as well as Hannorah and Janet for making all the arrangements.

Well done everyone on a great crawl this evening. We did 4 Westerhopes - all with successful backlocks - plus lots of new dances. There were lots of good points in both dances, and also lots we can work on before DERT! Thanks to Hannorah and Janet for another well organised route.
Hope you all have great weekends and see you on Monday.

Hi all,
I hope you're well and looking forward to the crawl on Thursday. I'm really hoping we'll be able to do both the new dance and the full Westerhope. I've slightly lost track of who's been learning what in Westerhope but here's how I think it will pan out:
New dance: 1) Ffion & Jo, 2) Lindsey & Laura, 3) Becky, 4) Hannorah & Reesha, 5) Katherine
Westerhope: 1) Ffion, 2) Janet, 3) Becky & Lizzie 4) Reesha, 5) Katherine
Please let me know if I've got anyone's position wrong! If we're going to any big pubs and if we have spare practice time (which I think is unlikely) we could also try a double Jubilee:
1) Jo & Katherine, 2) Janet & Laura, 3) Lindsey & Becky, 4) Reesha & Lizzie 5) Ffion & Sue, T) Hannorah
See you later!

Hi everyone,
Please see the details of DERT travel from Ken's email below- we maybe need to discuss everyone having groups of 3 to definitely travel with home but don't think that should be too bad :)
Thanks!Becky

Hi all,
Trains have been booked.
We have got a fairly good del in my opinion, 34% off for everyone which is equivalent to everyone having some sort of railcard.
It works out at £36.95 per person for an open return leaving Paddington on the 13:28 train which we have allocated seats booked.
For the return journey all we need to do is travel in groups of 3, so everyone getting a train of their choice will need to find a couple of buddies so that the group discount still applies.

Hello all,
1. North Wood2. Thrales May Day3. Respond!!4. Easter practice5. Day practices
1. Just so you are all aware, I have declined the North Wood Day of Dance, we just didn't have enough definite people and I wasn't getting enough enthusiasm about it to make me think we could scrape something together.
2. As I mentioned last night Thrales have invited us on a joint tour- I can confirm this is May 1st, a Friday night, in Hammersmith. They meet 7.30 to start dancing at 8 as standard, and they seem to crawl from further out back towards the centre (just so people have some idea). I suspect there will be more details later!
3. We have lots of Summer and even Autumn events that we need to reply to- if you haven't already please can you spend 10 minutes going through with your diary and giving a response- maybe is better than no response! I am guilty of this as well but it really does help us out :)
https://docs.google.com/document/d/11XHQc6j0g7HQto7rhOs6k0bfkw-XmFb8jmCeRa4…
4. With Easter being the weekend before DERT we need to decide when to have a practice that week, please let me know when you are free that week and we can go from there:
http://doodle.com/t5v32fqppzr9ixzw
5. Can I check that people's availabilty for day rehearsals is still the same?
Please consider the 21st, 22nd, 28th and 29th of March in particular:

Cheers me dears- see most of you on Thursday!

Ken has very kindly phoned the train company re. Prices (please see below).
The rough idea is just over 35 quid for an open return which is pretty good! It gives people a lot of flexibility on getting home but means we're all sorted.
If you have a discount railcard please let me know asap. For example I know sue has one, I suspect some people have young persons..anyway, once wr have numbers they'll take that into consideration too!
Please let me know re. Travel cards asap.
Cheers,
Becky x

Just spoke to First Great Western.
The offer is £36.95 per person without taking into account the discounts for people with some sort of rail card, its also open return tickets so people can return when they want on sunday. This is about the price of people buying an individual ticket to and from Bristol now as prices have gone up slightly. Open return means I can buy a load of tickets and then they'll be valid for everyone to get home when they want.
Is this what people would like or should I buy one way tickets and let everyone buy another ticket for the return home?
I need to know who has a rail card as they take that into account when pricing the journey.
Please get back to me ASAP so prices dont keep creeping up.

Hello all,
Just 2 things today to consider:1. No to North Wood2. Greenwich Day of Dance
1. We haven't had many yes's to go to the North Wood day of dance as we did last year which is on the 9th May- unless we get any more responses then we need to say no
2. We have been invited to Greenwich Day of DAnce on Sunday 5th of July...in Greenwich. This might be a nice one to go to if we have a team as it is so close! Sounds like the standard day of teams getting together and dancing around Greenwich.
Please put it on the sign up sheet if you can make it.https://docs.google.com/document/d/11XHQc6j0g7HQto7rhOs6k0bfkw-XmFb8jmCe…
