1st draft of Ravens' constitution is attached.
It looks we need this in order to get a club bank account, hence why I've made a start on it.
I've put notes in red next to the things I'm not sure of, but of course all comments/changes are more than welcome, as I'm sure I've missed things/got things wrong! :-)

I've left it until the end of January as not sure it'd be worth it, and then any others left blank are because Ffion is unavailable and there doesn't seem much point doing a day practice without her.

Last message for a few days I promise!
Reminder: if you want to go to DERT we need to know for certain by the end of Sunday 16th so that Ffion can make a final decision and we can apply in time! This includes any plus ones you might want, if you want them to get in on the evening event.
We've had various invites to things next year- please do check out the signup sheet and let me know if we are interested. A lot of it is Morris Days of Dance who plan their calenders well in advance! If I could get an idea of interest I can at least give a reasonable reply.
Please note that the Blackheath morris weekend is the same as the one in York so I will need a preference for one over the other so that I can let one or the other know. It isn't fair to give them both maybes when we know we can't make both!

Hi all,
I've realised that we've only got 5 or 6 weeks left until Christmas and we've got a lot to get done in that time! In general I think the priorities should be 1) getting 5 people ready to do the new dance on the crawl and/or Mables Day, 2) getting Kate and Reesha ready to dance the Jubilee out, 3) experimenting with trad dances and deciding which one we want to do.
Therefore, here's a rough plan for now until Christmas:

New dance - triangle walk round to end and add to previous section (walk round, jumps, 2 tumble, tits, follower, follower, tits with 6, lock with 6, walk round, windmills, double tumble, open ring, glass, popcorn, lock, out)
First half - Work on Jubilee with Kate and Reesha
Second half - work on trad dance figures

For this to work we really need to have two sets dancing every week. The last few weeks we've had 8 or 9 dancers which is the most frustrating number! So, as always, please let me know if you can't make it to practice.

Sorry for the stream of email, this should be the last one regarding the AGM.
1. Please read attached minutes2. Action points for WHOLE TEAM and individuals- scan through this so you know what is expected.For example if we call you out on not giving notice in time because you couldn't be bothered to read the minutes saying what we now expect it's you're own darn fault!3. Attached are the 2014 AGM Minutes and at the end a summary of points that we decided needed to be discussed at the EGM. Please do give these a read, even if you only skim through and look at bits you're particularly interested in!If you are unsure of anything or disagree with the way I have reported anything, please let me know and I can consider amending- I was typing as fast as possible on the night but very easily could have missed something vital.
Below please see action that needs to be taken (extracted from the minutes to make it easier from everyone) these include ALL members of the team but I have divided it up to points for individuals as well. If you think you have been allocated a job that shouldn't be yours let me know and we will discuss. Obviously if there are jobs that you think you need to do but haven't been acknowledged you can let me know but by no means have to, the point of the list is to help everyone out and bring a certain open-ness to what we're all doing.

1. AGM2. DERT: Application for DERT dance, Traditional dance and spectators.
1. Thanks to those of you who came to the AGM, it was really worthwhile and we got through a lot of stuff. I will email the minutes round once I've had a chance to write them up, hopefully tomorrow. If you weren't there and are uncertain of anything please do ask and I can hopefully clear it up!
2. DERT:
We decided that we should try entering the Trad competition as well, so need an additional 5x people to be competing- so please consider this if deciding to go.

If Lindsey and Jo could turn these into a definite yes or no by the end of THIS Sunday (16th November) it gives Ffion some time to decide who is best suited for the teams.
If you would like to be considered for dancing, or want to go as a spectator (which the teams really need to keep them going through the day!!) please e-mail Ffion to let her know, including which dance (DERT or Trad) you would like to be considered for. If you want to go as a spectator we still need to know by the end of Sunday as all ticketed members have to be named in the application. If you do not confirm I assume you can still come but will probably be unable to join in with the evening event.

If you borrow kit, please ensure it is returned at the end of each occasion, so that we can keep track of it.

A few things to pick up on so please give this a read! (Please come having read the AGM notes!!)

1. Thrales Day- So: this Sunday arriving for 12 at the Prince William Henry, 218 Blackfriars Road, SE1 8NL. This is situated pretty much opposite Southwark station or just across the bridge from Blackfriars (5-10 minute walk). For those who haven't been before it's a lovely day where we get to see other teams dancing- inc. the likes of Camden clog etc. It's relaxed but quite a good chance to show people what we can do so shiny kit, big smiles and fun!
2. AGM- We have one of the downstairs rooms at the Cross Keys booked from 7, although I suspect we can turn up earlier. I am aware probably not everyone can be there for 7 but the sooner we start the longer we've got to talk about stuff. If you can't make it for 7 please let me know ASAP and a time when you think you will be able to get there for.
Can I get brief reports from people in positions of responsibility: Ffion, me, Jo, Hannorah/Janet, Sue, and Lindsey/Laura. Please keep these as short as possible, I think most people have a vague idea of what people do, and if anyone wants to ask questions they can.
Please see attached the AGM agenda for this year, if you have any additions you would like to make please email me- I have assumed that some things will be addressed by the reports!
NB. Please can I stress that point 7 is not to isolate people, but to discuss what we expect of 'country members' and what they expect of the team!

3. DERT- registration is open and we need to know pretty much ASAP people's availability to go as we have to name every person that is going, whether they are part of the team or not. Obviously this will be discussed at the AGM.
Please come to the AGM prepared to state your availability for April 10th-12th Bristol, and with an idea of whether you would like to be considered to dance competitively. Time commitment, positivity and enthusiasm is needed for the actual competition but also for the crawls and additional practices in the run up!

Just a quick update on what we did tonight for those who couldn't make it - we worked on the new dance and different people did bits from the beginning up to the walk round after the triangle lock. We also worked on getting hands snappy in glass and on keeping the line straight in fourth corner.
Next week is the AGM.
The following week we'll focus on the new dance again. Here's what we've got left to string together - jumps, number 2 tumble, tits, follower, follower, tits with 6, lock with 6, walk round, windmills, double tumble, open ring, glass, popcorn, lock, out. If you're coming on the next crawl and/or Mables Day please have a think through these positions.

Hi all,
We've been contacted about an event from Waltham Abbey Folk Club for the weekend of 17th,18th July next year (a long way off I know).
It is a new mini-fest for Kent (Bewl Water Country Park) - free camping until Sunday 19th.
Ceilidh, Morris Sides, 15-minute marquee performance slots & separate "tunes" sessions. No payment for appearances, but should be great weekend in brill location - if dancing as rapper side, all free except for £10 Ceilidh entrance.
The nearest train station is Wadhurst, although this does fall about 5 miles short of the park which might need a taxi journey? The train journey looks to take about an hour and cost about £20 for a return.
I won't put this on the sign-up sheet yet but I am putting it as an item for the AGM as we will be discussing what we want to do next year.
I should hopefully be sending out a draft of the AGM within the next week for everyone to have a look at and to respond to should they want anything else discussing.

Hi all,
Last night we made sure Lizzie's ready for her dance out debut on Thursday and we did a bit of work on the first few figures in the new dance.
Lindsey said some of the pubs for the week's crawl are very small so we also did some work on dancing in small spaces! For those who weren't there but are coming on Thursday the basic principles are: take small steps, keep swords as high as possible (this gives you and others more space to dance underneath), put less energy in - this makes it feel slower but it's better to be slow and tidy then energetic and dangerous. Other specific things to think about: keep walk round really tight for walk the dog and hoops; keep elbows in in open ring, glass and spin; if necessary make fourth corner into a V with number 3 further back and 2&4 angled towards each other. Hope that makes sense out of context! Let me know if you've got any questions.
We've got lots of people for the crawl on Thursday so it should be a good one. Please feel free to come along for the social aspect even if you're not ready to dance out yet or haven't been to practice in a while. Also feel free to bring friends - it's always nice to have a rent-a-crowd :-)

Thanks to everyone who came on Monday. We got Reesha all the way through Jubilee and did a bit of sword handling work. Hannorah also learnt to come in as a Tommy and did some very proficient tumbling!
Unfortunately I don't think we're going to get the new dance out at Thrales Day as there are now only two practices until then! We'll have to aim for the November crawl and Mables Day instead. I therefore want to remind you all to keep checking the sign up sheet and marking what you're able to come to. It's not only helpful for Becky in terms of bookings, it's also very helpful for me in order to plan practice sessions in advance. Plus it helps us all know what we need to sort out in terms of kit! 1. I know it's a little early to be considering the AGM and people have been signing up to it *yay*. However, if you haven't shown your availability please do asap. Remember if you're not there you can't voice your opinion for how the team progresses for the next year!

I will be sending out a breakdown of what will be discussed some time before the 10th November so anyone who can't come can comment/ bring up a topic for discussion to ensure their voice is heard.

To prevent delay on the day I would like to elect a chair for the meeting- essentially it will be their job to keep control of the discussion- remaining impartial to the opinions given and ensuring we don't spend longer than necessary on each point. (Although the chair can of course take part in the discussion and voice their own opinions too).
If you would like to be considered for chair/want to nominate someone for the job please email me by next Monday (20th October) so next week I can send a list of names for people to vote on. This will then give the chair chance to become familiar with the points to be discussed.
