Hello team ravens,
Just to let you know that for tomorrow's crawl we are meeting at the Pineapple pub in Kentish Town. Please be there and ready to dance by 7.30. They serve thai food if you want to get there early and eat (although I have never eaten there and not sure what time they serve from).
For a full list of pubs we will be visiting during the course of the evening, please see the Facebook event.
See you tomorrow!

Hi Becky, Spud is working on the dance timetable and will be sending it out very soon. Dancing normally starts at 10.00 on Saturday and Sunday. We can provide some parking but it is a short walk back into town so good to drop off passengers and equipment before parking. Yes camping is still available at the Early Bird price of £20 per caravan and £18 per tent for dancers. We will need a list of members who would like free weekend tickets please. See attached original invitation and booking form for info but let me know if you still have other questions. Is there an itinerary for the day? I wasn't in the team this time last year so it will be my first time and I'm not sure what to expect. We will be driving to you, I'm just confirming the numbers of cars, is there any parking available through you? Or if not can you recommend anywhere near by? Lastly, some people are considering camping, I wanted to check if there was still any room and the cost? I don't think we've had that information, if we have I'm really sorry to make you repeat yourself! Hi all,
Thanks to everyone who came last night. I think it's really worthwhile spending time working properly on stepping now and again. I hope you all agree and I hope everyone has got something to work on when they're practising their stepping at home. I've uploaded the videos to youtube as a reminder but they're unlisted which means only people with the links can see them.
http://youtu.be/ctLCkfPiQi0http://youtu.be/-gQ8NwUz1PMhttp://youtu.be/WSA2T3XYJ6c
It was also good to figure out a potential ending for the new dance. Next week we'll try and walk through it with the people who've done most work on it and then after the workshop week we'll start actually trying to dance it!! Lindsey, Becky, Sinead and Katherine can you let me know if there are any big chunks you haven't walked through before? The whole new dance is written out below.
Next week we'll also make sure that people going to Tenterden are happy with Beadnell and processing.
See you on Thursday,

Hi all,
Thanks to everyone who came to practice last night - enough for 2 sets again - and congrats to our new tumblers and double tumblers!
Lindsey asked how long we've got left to perfect the new dance before Thrales days (invitations will be sent this week apparently) and the answer is 7 weeks. However, 1 week is our open practice week and another we'll need to spend mostly on making sure everything's looking good ahead of Tenterden.
Below is the plan for the next 3 weeks. You'll see that I'd like to experiment with having 7 people in the set at the end of the new dance which means we need a Betty! Would anyone like to volunteer? Similarly, if anyone would like to have a go at Tommying let me know. I don't think Sue can come to Tenterden so it would be good to have one or two more people willing to do a bit of shouting at the crowds! ALSO, a reminder that we need more teachers! I feel bad having to ask people to teach who don't necessarily want to do it, but I can't be in two places at once!

I know, I know - it's mentally early to be even thinking of DERT accommodation, but I was booking other accommodation on Airbnb just now and found this amazing townhouse that's sleeps up to 14 for £350 a night:

Of course we won't book anything without knowing who's in the team etc, but when we do - just imagine staying here! :-)

Hello!
Thanks to everyone who came to the extra practice last night. We made a lot of progress on the new dance. Here's a video of us walking through what we've got so far. I reckon this is over half way through. Obviously, there are a few little (!) things to refine but I think it could look amazing http://youtu.be/KZ6Y5drhUoI
See you on Saturday/Monday,

P.S. If you're looking for some entertainment tomorrow night The Foxglove Trio have a gig at the OSO Arts Centre in Barnes - http://www.osoarts.org.uk/
H&M have changed their range vary slightly.
Attached photos (apologies for the quality) shows the T-shirt currently
available. Still a 'divided basics' t-shirt, but they now size them XS-XL
rather than 6-18.

For everyone what was admiring my bargains last night the details are at the bottom! X

Hi so quick note about Ru and then trains:
Some of you will see on facebook she was in a cycling accident where some idiot just turned right across her. She posted a pic of her face which looks very sore but hopefully nothing unrecoverable which is a relief! I've sent her love from the whole team.
Trains:Depending on if you have a railcard or not probably decides this for people. We start dancing at 11, gathering at the Drapers Arms at around 10.30. This pub is about 5 minutes walk from the station.
I managed to get an open return, outward train leaving 9.30 getting in at 10.15For a cheaper option there is a slower train leaving 9.23 getting in at 10.40. These seem to be £18
I think the prices have changed or I'd have gone for the longer train too!
Either one is fine as long as we're assembled ready for 11 so just be prompt about getting from the station to the pub.
I recommend an open return as we're not entirely sure what time it'll finish. The last pub is again about 5 mins from the station with the last spot starting at 4.30 so if people do have a specific train I'm sure we can make sure we get in a dance before they had to leave.
Here is a link to the map of the route we will take- I think as long as you can get to the Drapers Arms the rest will be fine as we can tag along with other teams.

Hi all,
We're still not sure what happened to Ru but she's in hospital over night and waiting for a decision on facial surgery.
Needless to say there will be no clog practice on Wednesday but the team tonight was keen to meet up on Wednesday to work on the new dance as we have the hall space. I'm not messaging Ru until I know she's out of hospital because it doesn't seem appropriate. Ken has sent her good wishes from 'all the London rapper dancers' through Jon and right now I think that's enough.
Hopefully see some of you on Wednesday and I'll send another email if I hear any news on Ru's progress.
Becky xx
P.s. Peterborough train advice to follow tomorrow
Hi all,
I'm afraid Ru has had an accident at work and is in hospital getting checked out. I'm not entirely sure what happened (Jon left Ken tiling so he could get to the hospital so it's rather vague news). From what I can tell something exploded in her face- science related- so obviously depending on what it was etc. she might not be up to it on Wednesday. I will let people know when I hear more, at the moment I get the impression she won't be able to do it.
Please keep an eye out for an update from me.
Thanks,
Becky

Hi all,
I hope everyone who wend to York had a fun time. Last Monday we had 10 dancers, which is great news, but it did highlight the need to have more than one teacher in the room. In the past Rachel, Lindsey and Sinead have helped with teaching but it would be really good for me to know if there's anyone else who'd be happy to help with teaching when we have 2 sets. Over the next few months this will probably mostly entail teaching the new members (and people dancing in new positions) so that I can focus on teaching people the new dance. So, if you're relatively confident with how the Jubilee goes and reckon you could explain it to others please drop me a line or let me know at practice.
Cheers,
Ffion x
Hello all,
Just got back from a lovely weekend in York! We faced some fairly torrential rain but managed to get some good dancing in, and the sun came out for us today :)
In the meantime Ru has been in touch re. a musician for clogging on Wednesday as she can recommend some tunes. I know we've been uncertain about this so can I see if we have anyone? I've asked Ru if we actually need one so will let you all know. If we don't have anyone please be thinking of anyone we could ask.
Answers ASAP would be very useful, by tomorrows practice is a must.
We need to decline Blackheath Morris as we don't have a side so have emailed them.
See you tomorrow folks,
Becky xx
Dear all!
Sue has pointed out that I was daft and said Blackheath crawl was friday when in fact it is Thursday!
Please still let me know your availability by the end of sunday.
Have a lovely weekend all :-) xx

Sorry also meant to say Tom of Rockingham has said that his team are staying on for a meal at the last pub and has said we are welcome to join them if we give him numbers.
Personally I will probably be thinking of heading back to London but let me know what everyone going thinks.
Cheers!

Hello all,
1. What to bring to clogging practice on Wednesday 10th2. Times of Rockingham's Birthday in Peterborough3. New event on the sign-up sheet
1. We have had the hall confirmed for next Wednesday as our clogging practice (hurrah!) at the usual time of 7.30 to 9.30. I've been in touch with Ru and she recommends people bring clogs (if they have them) or their rapper shoes, water, a notepad for attempting to remember instructions and something to record the stepping on - so if someone could bring a decent phone or ipad that'd be great.
I'm going to meet her before practice and will probably try and take her to the Cross Keys before hand if anyone wants to join, but I will try and confirm that.Jo has ordered her a thankyou gift from her amazon wishlist, it's a book about rapper! We may take additional collection for this, or it might come out of subs- thoughts Jo?
2. In Peterborough we are meeting in the Drapers arms next Saturday at around 10.30. It's very close to the train station so I probably recommend we just get the 9.30 train. The dancing is set to finish at another pub very close to the station at 4.30 so obviously people can book returns for some time after that. I'm not sure how well dancers stick to times so who knows?
Please follow this very useful link to a map of the route:

3. Lastly Simon Vaughan (Thrales' Betty and general Ravens enthusiast) has invited us to his birthday on the 25th of October for some informal dancing most likely in the Punch Bowl on Fleet Street. He's said we can appear in kit or out and it's more of a get together than any sort of scary performance. Members of Thrales will be there with, I presume, a team, and possibly other rapper dancers. I think most people in the team know Simon, although I wasn't there for it I believe he helped us get started and wrote our Tommy song, and he helped collect last crawl so would be nice to take him up on the offer :)
Please let me know your availability so I can let him know if we actually have a team:

See some of you on Saturday and the rest on Monday for practice :)
