Hi guys,
I'm really sorry but I can't make it tonight, I hope you have a great practise.

Dear Ravens
It has taken me a while to total the money collected from the crawl last Thursday.... Partly as I was still star stuck from meeting PJ but mainly because we collected so much!! (was also on a barge this weekend and still feel like I'm on water).
Anyway....
Your guesses were:
Laura s - 124
Sue - 125.25
Aisha - 80
Rhona- 120
Ffion - 132
Nikki - 94
Laura f - 100
Deb - 109
Nic - 130
Ffion you were the closest but way short....
We collected an amazing £182.58!!!
Plus 2 euros 60 cents and a Brighton Sealife centre coin.
Just to clarify... Phil wasn't that generous but did do the photo.
Well done ladies, woop woop!

Date: Wed, Mar 26, 2014 10:23
Hello everyone,
Pub to meet in depends whether you want food or not I guess.
The pubs confirmed so far are:
7:30/8ish - The Edinboro Castle - manager: Lucas
8:30 - The Albert - manager : Erin
9:00 - The Engineer - manager: Francois
9:30 - Dublin Castle - managers: Kitty and Mariana (perhaps this should be earlier, depending on which other pubs we secure)
After 10:00 - Brew Dog
Hannorah is waiting to hear back from a couple of other pubs to see if we are allowed to dance. I may try another pub or two at lunch time today.
We could just meet at the Edinboro Castle, our first dancing pub. They serve food but it's a bit pricey.
Or there's a Pizza Express on Parkway.
If we don't need food, then we could meet anywhere really... Edinboro Castle? Or The World's End is quite an interesting pub - just opposite the tube.

Which pub are we meeting in on Thursday? For those of you who weren't there on Monday , one of the decisions we made was that we'd all try and be better at getting to crawls on time!
Also, are we going back to 40-60 denier tights as no one will be sitting on the floor watching us?
Hi all,
Rachel will be sending through the minutes from Monday's discussion but there are a couple of fairly urgent action points relating to the dance/dancers:
1) We decided that our second dance would be a 'round' (suitable for festivals), fast and complex (suitable for DERT) dance. We're going to try out a variety of figures and then see what fits together well. I'd particularly like to try and create new figures, or at least new variations on existing figures, for this dance. Please can you all have a think about figures you'd like to try out for this dance and a) email me a video of another team doing the figure or b) come prepared to teach the figure!
2) We decided that some people should learn new positions. If you weren't there on Monday can you let me know which, if any, new positions you'd be happy to try on the Julibee (nee DERT) dance and which positions you'd be interested in learning the second dance from? Can you also let me know whether you'd like to have a go at helping with teaching, tumbling, playing music or being a character? Please note that's it's not compulsory to learn a new position - if you want to stick with your original position in both dances that's fine!
If you can send me your thoughts to these two points by the weekend that would really help me to plan the next practices. In general I think I'd like to split the practices so that the first half we have 2 sets working on the Jubilee dance - learning new positions and the tidying up points we implemented for DERT - and we spend the second half working together on finding figures for the second dance.
See you tomorrow/Monday,
Ffion x
Hi all,
Please find below the proposed agenda for the EGM on Monday. Please all
remember to bring your diaries with you - I will be chasing you for sign
ups, especially for the summer, as I am now being chased to reply!
Thanks,
Rachel
- - - - -
1. Apologies
2. Elect this meeting's Chair
3. Reading of Nov 13 AGM minutes
4. Quick 2 sentence update from those positions that feel it necessary
(Ffion; Rachel; Jo; Sue; Lindsey/Laura; Hannorah; etc?)
5. DERT - what went well, what could we have done better?
6. Dance development
a. Should we keep the DERT dance as is or change it?
b. Should we write a new dance? More exciting/funky figures? Choreograph
the whole thing first or learn independent figures then string them
together?
c. Should we learn a traditional dance?
d. Do we want to learn the DERT dance from different positions?
7. Side attendance at festivals/etc - how high profile do we want to be?
How many festivals per summer/year?
8. Side ethos - do we want to be friendly? Good? Well known? Approachable?
One of the best rapper sides in the country? Do we want to develop the
Tower Ravens "personality"?
9. Practical details:
a. Should we buy more swords?
b. Are we happy with the practice hall - especially size?
c. What is the position on kit (Sue to update). Hoodies/tshirts, etc?
10. Side size - are we worried?
11. Sign ups please!
12. AOB
OMG - my mum would love this! Haha xxx

I laughed, but he was being serious.
What do you think girls - something to add to the agenda for Monday's EGM?

Hi All
We are meant to be crawling next Thursday.
So...
1. Who's attending
People confirmed so far are:
Ffion (5), Jo (2), Laura S (musician/2), Janet (2), Aisha (3) Lindsey (1) , Sinead (4), Sue (Tommy/5) and me (4).
This means we have one of every number if these people can definitely make it (& loads of 2s).
Only issue is I can't make it any more as now have to attend a work event in Sheffield over the weekend, so will need Thursday night to pack & get ready.
Sinead is down for 4 also, but would be good to have a reserve in case she isn't feeling tip top. Nic, you're a tbc, any chance you can make it?
Other TBCs are Nikki, Becky, Laura F & Rachel (who is injured & won't be dancing). Ladies, are you coming?
Laura - could you play solo if Nikki can't make it?
2. Next question - does anyone have any ideas for where we should go, & does anyone want to volunteer to secure the pubs?
Locations suggested a few weeks ago were Camden, Southbank - Shad Thames or Oxford St. Although anywhere central-ish would be OK.
I can create a long-list of pubs, & give a lunchtime or possibly an afternoon to calling in, but it's a busy time for me work-wise so can't manage it alone.
So can TBCs confirm by Thursday close of play. And can any volunteer organisers let me know by the same time.
Would be great if the team can go ahead with this crawl. And apologies for not being more useful this time.

Hey Team
Great to see most of you at the social this evening. Thanks for organising Nic!
Who left a TK Maxx bag with shoes and a handbag in?
Nic, Becky & I guessed it was Kat, but weren't sure.
I have taken it home. I can bring it to work this week if you need it urgently. I work near Euston. Otherwise I'll bring it next week to practice/EGM.

Hi,
Your flat & a session sounds lovely Nic, but I'd probably have to leave at 8.30 ish to get home at a reasonable time so somewhere more central would be convenient. I don't mind using the church hall, but the Southbank Centre sounds good as well.
What I bring'll depend on how I feel on Monday, but probably something savoury and
some cake.

So... following on from our success at DERT (woop woop!) it seems only fair to celebrate with some fizz but also save a bit of cash.
So - Theme for social is Tea Party plus fizz then some good old Irish music given it's St Paddy's day.
There was an idea that we do this in the church space where we practice however not sure about alcohol in the church and also a break from there might be nice...
Fred, who did a bit of playing for us has his weekly session on Mondays at the Great Northern Railway pub, Hornsey. This is a 10 minute walk from my house... So.... Happy to host Tea Party if my fellow Ravens who don't live near this way don't mind travelling. I am a short bus ride away from Finsbury Park (Victoria / Piccadilly tube lines and overground). This is a quick link into main stations (ie.. Kings X) and other lines.
My address is 2 Redston Road, N8 7HJ if you want to check out distance / travel before you let me know your thoughts. If this is going to be too far for people let me know....
PLAN B.... Tea Party in the church where we practice... I will have a word with the fella upstairs ;)
PLEASE REPLY WITH YOUR THOUGHTS ON VENUE AND CONFIRMATION OF ATTENDANCE ASAP - I will confirm details on Saturday.
Can you 'reply all' with what you are thinking of bringing so we're are not overloaded with sausage rolls, haha!
Love and eggs

What I bring'll depend on how I feel on Monday, but probably something savoury and
some cake.
Love,
Sinéad

Dear lovely Ravens
Tea party is to go ahead in church hall where we usually practice at the usual time of 7.30. If you arrive early, please meet in Wetherspoons, the Crosse Keys.
So far I have people bringing quiche, potato salad, ginger wine, cheese and biscuits.
I will bring cups, cutlery, napkins, table cloth and plates.
I have one rug and a throw we can use.
There is a pub a short walk away which will have live music for St Patrick's day if we want to head on somewhere else to avoid eating anymore cake ;)
Any questions please ask.
