Congratulations

Morning all, Congratulations on another successful crawl last night. Hope you all had a fun time! Special congrats to Laura S on completing her first dance out. Hooray! We need to book our DERT weekend days (at least the first one) before Christmas so, if you haven't yet, please please please fill in your availability for those dates. Hi all, As explained last night, Nikki and I went to square some pubs in Farringdon yesterday afternoon and most of them said they'd be full but that we could turn up and see if there was enough room to dance. I think, realistically, only 5 of these will have space so I'll go and ask a few more today or tomorrow. But if you'd like me to make them for you, could you confirm your waist measurement and finished skirt length, please? Inches or cms. Do I remember that you tried on mine and you need one about an inch bigger? I really should write down everything because I can never remember from one moment to the next! Waist is on your natural waistline, ie round the thinnest part of you and skirt length is approx 4 inches/10 cm above your knees. I'm trying to get them done for Thursday, but can't promise. You may need to swap outfits around if you are dancing. In the meantime you all need to buy a black T-shirt of your own from H&M. Details of T-shirt, tights and shoes attached. SLVER FLAME CRAWL (SAT 21 DEC 2013) Silver Flame have invited us to crawl with them on Saturday. Unless there's a huge flurry of signups tonight, I'm turning this down, as we currently have one yes! - - - - - 2. CHINGFORD WASSAIL (SAT 4 JAN 2014) There's quite a lot of interest in this, and we have dancers but no music - Nikki is a No. Ffion, can you play? Laura? Anybody else? If we can get a musician this week I'll say yes, otherwise I'm going to have to turn it down. - - - - - 3. NORTHWOOD DAY OF DANCE (SAT 10 MAY 2014) We've confirmed this but don't actually have enough dancers at present. Please, please, sign up! - - - - - 4. Hi all, As mentioned earlier, I won't be there tonight. I think I might get out of work at a reasonable hour (for once!), but then I need to go home and sleep... I hope to make it to practice soon though. Work is calming down a bit, and I haven't seen you all in ages! Maybe next week, all being well. In the meantime... - - - - - 1. CRAWLS (19 DEC 2013 / 30 JAN 2014) We've told Folk London we're doing them, so let's make it good! The more the merrier! 2. WASSAILING WITH CHINGFORD MORRIS (4 JAN 2014) This is still a little while away (after Christmas!) but I'd love to be able to reply to say we can come in the next couple of weeks, so please sign up to that! We've not quite got a side at present, so another couple of names would be good. It sounds like a lovely little event up in North London: "there will be dancing, music and eating and drinking from 7.30pm onwards". 3. NORTHWOOD DAY OF DANCE (10 MAY 2014) we've told Northwood we're coming, but only just have a side! I have to give official numbers soon, so if you're thinking of coming to this, please sign up. 4. NEW: SANDWICH FOLK AND ALE FESTIVAL (11-13 JULY 2014) "For any new sides being invited, Sandwich is a beautiful small Medieval town near the coast of SE Kent near the end of the M2. There will be live music performed in the pubs and on 2 stages. Camping is on a private site within easy walking distance of the town centre and with good facilites. It is subsidised 50% by the festival leaving folk to pay just £5 / large pitch per night. As well as live bands/acts there will be tune and singalong sessions. Please let me know if your side can make it and which days they will bwe performing (sat/sun/both)" Is this something we want to do? We did say more festivals would be fun... 5. CINQUEFOIL / RAVENS DAY OF DANCE (tbc) Cinquefoil don't have a side for either of the January dates, so we're postponing this til after DERT. Two social invitations

Hi all, Hope those of you who came to Oxford yesterday all got home OK and are recovered from all that dancing. My calves hurt! I think I've invited most of you to these things on facebook but, just in case I haven't... This Friday the 6th my folk band, The Foxglove Trio, is playing at The Tiller Flat Folk Club which takes place on The Golden Hinde Ship on Southwark. I won't be the only Raven in action - Laura and her partner Ted will also be doing a set. Doors open at 7pm and music starts at about 8. You can buy tickets in advance if you want to by calling The Golden Hinde. Whitechapel crawl: Thursday

Hi All Here's the route for Thursday's crawl. Must say it was so nice to go into pubs where they remembered us from last time. Think we're going to get a good reception back on our home crawl (well sort of nearest crawl to the Tower) 1. Blind Beggar, Whitechapel Road Meet here by 7.15, ready to dance at 7.30. 2. White Hart, Mile End Rd 3. Possibly Spanish bar on opposite side of street TBC - barman was too busy serving to ask, but they let us last time. 4. White Hart, Whitechapel High Street (yep same name as other pub) 5, The Archers, Osbourne Street 6. Princess Alice, Commercial Street 7. The Dispensary, Leman Street 8. Oliver Conquest, Leman Street tbc 9. The Bear, Leman Street tbc There may be a couple of changes as I'm awaiting confirmation from a few places, but this will be it more or less. See you then Ravens!
