Subject: [Tower Ravens] Cake and skirts
Date: Mon, Dec 17, 2012 08:37
Hi all,
Just a few reminders in advance of tonight's practice:
1) Hannorah volunteered to bring cake.
3) Tomorrow we will be having a crawl in Angel - Hannorah will update us tonight and we'll email details for those who can't come tonight. If you're not coming tonight but will be on the crawl please email to let me know so we can make sure we have the right numbers for dancing!
4) Tomorrow you're also all welcome to join me at Angel tube station to sing carols for charity from 5.30pm until 7pm.
2) Please can everyone bring their skirts tonight?
5) There will be no practice on 24 or 31 December.
See you later at the church at 7.30pm (remember the new, early start time!)

Hi All
Just a quickie to let you know I'm on the case with pubs for Tuesday night.
A mentally busy week at work has prevented me from securing all 8, I've got 2 so far, but will be hitting the streets of Islington tonight to get the rest (conscious a Friday night isn't ideal for this task, but needs must).
If anyone fancies joining me I'll be in Islington from 6, so just let me know.

Hi everyone.
I now have more detailed information about the Northwood Day of Dance, which is on Saturday 11th May 2013 - sorry, Rachel!
I hope that you can open the attachment; I found it a bit tricky, but I got there in the end. Let me know if you can't and I'll send it some other way.
If we can get a side together, we'd also need to decide how much of it we wish to attend.
Great practice this evening and greatly needed!

Hello Sue,
You beat me to it. It was a lovely day on Saturday – just the right
weather for keeping moving.
Apart from asking “Why Tower Ravens?” (Very black birds !!) we would be
delighted if you get a side, or even 3, to come to our day of dance. I
attach the booking form, for your information rather than in expectation an
immediate or committed reply. In full flood doing Christmas cards to
Europe so have to keep going.
Marry Christmas to all.
Roger

In view of the fact that at least two of us won't be there tomorrow, here's notice of an invitation I received from Northwood Morrismen for our consideration. Their next Day of Dance is on Saturday 11th May 2013 (tbc - they actually said the 12th, which is a Sunday)
It's a great day, basically a ready-made tour, which would involve practically no organisation, except getting to and from the start point near Croydon. Everyone gets on a bus that transports us through picturesque countryside to some lovely Kent and Surrey pubs, where we either dance or not, as we choose. Hot lunch is laid on at Penshurst.
There's a feast in a scout hut in the evening, which we could either attend or not and Saturday accommodation is available in the scout hut. I'm not sure what happens on the Sunday - I've only been there for the Saturday. There are usually about 6 or so sides in all, including Blackheath Morrismen and Old Palace Clog (where a few are interested in rapper and we might recruit one or two).
Dancing would be mainly outside on hard surfaces. It's all very relaxed; not many punters as a rule.
Not sure about the cost - it's usually very reasonable.
They are very keen to have a rapper side, which would be a novelty for them and advertisement for us. It tends to be mainly Cotswold, with a bit of North-West.
See you tomorrow

Subject: [Tower Ravens] Practice Tomorrow
Hi All,
Most importantly, Rachel is bringing cake this week.
Practice is as normal this week (there's not enough notice to bring it forward) at 8.00pm, with food in the spoons next door from 6.30pm.
Results from Doodle with regards to bringing it forward to 7.30pm is 5 yays, 2 mays, and I'm assuming a fair number of mumblemumbles. This is a majority yay, but there's still time to vote and object.
Could you all fill in this doodle poll for availability for coming practices?

(Warning: It's possible that I might not make it, so could at least someone bring an instrument just in case? Ta.)

Hello everyone,
At practice last night we decided to try and have a crawl around Angel on Tuesday 18 December. I'm sure Hannorah will be in touch about this soon.
Whether or not we manage to have a crawl on that evening I will be at Angel Tube station singing Christmas carols that evening and it would be lovely if some of you wanted to join me. The suggested start time is 5.30pm but I think I'm going to ask to move it to 6pm so that more people can get there in time after work. It's for the charity I used to work for called Afghanaid (www.afghanaid.org.uk) and they will provide song sheets and t-shirt (for those who want one).
If you think you'll make it please let me know.
Thanks,
Ffion x
Hi all,
I promised an email about how much you all owe me, so here it is :)
1. SUBS
As per the AGM, subs are changing. They will now be £12 monthly for most
people and £8 per month for students. If you want to pay me by cash, you
can do that at a practice. If you want to pay by electronic transfer /
standing order, then I will be using a spare bank account of my own to
house the Ravens' money in. (Keeping it separate until we can set up a
proper Ravens' account.) The details of the bank account are:
Sort code: 070246
Account number: 00380515
- - - - -
2. KIT COSTS
Below is a list of who I think has paid for what and who owes money for kit.
Aisha: no kit
Ffion: £5 net skirt, £15 overskirt, total £20
Hannorah: paid for net skirt, £15 overskirt, total £15
Janet: no kit
Jo: paid for net skirt, £15 overskirt, total £15
Josie: paid for net skirt, overskirt currently being sewn
Lindsey: using own net skirt, £15 overskirt, total £15
Nic: paid for net skirt, £15 overskirt, total £15
Nikki: £5 net skirt, £15 overskirt, total £20
Rachel: £5 net skirt, £15 overskirt, total £20
Sue: paid for net skirt, using own overskirt
I think that covers everybody!
I unfortunately won't be making it to practice tonight, so if you want to
pay by cash, it'll have to wait til next week. Bank transfers are welcome
any time though.
Thanks all,
Rachel :)
