Hi All,
One further little thing with the triple rooms, for medical reasons it
would probably be better if Sue was in a room of her own - this does work
as there are 7 people to go between 3 rooms of 3. So could I ask the
remaining 6 of you to go into groups of three please? Hope that's ok. I'd
also suggest checking when you check in that they give you rooms with 3
beds (unless two of you particularly want to have a double...) - they
should be 3 beds in a room, but it's hard to be absolutely certain that
they've arranged it as they are supposed to have!
The six of you are: Becky, Katherine, Hannorah, Anna, Joanna, Rachel-Anne.
Hope that's ok. We can always have a reshuffle when we get there if we need
to.
Thanks,
Hannah

Hi All,
DERT is nearly here! A few bits of info before you unleash your
excitement. It's going to be quite long, so grab a bevvy if you need to
help you get all the way to the end... Are you excited yet?!
First up some logistics, then a kit reminder and links to other useful
things.
Weekend forecast for Sheffield looks to be dry, max of 10C min of 3C.
*Friday*
*Travel:*
Firstly, those travelling up in the evening please meet at Kings Cross
under the departure boards (somewhere between Starbucks and Leon) at 1815
ready to go. The train leaves at 1833 and I won't be waiting for anyone
that misses it... We arrive at 2103, so bring whatever you need to keep
yourself entertained for 2.5 hours, e.g. food, ginnies (tinnies but with
Gin), puzzles, inflatable elephants...whatever really
If you said you have a railcard - don't forget to bring it! Laura should
be bringing the hoodies and T-Shirts, so please help her carry these!
Everyone else, we'll see you there!
*Accommodation:*
We are staying in Sheffield Central Travelodge (S1 2BQ) which is about 10
mins walk from the train station.
The rooms are booked under the following peoples names, this doesn't mean
you have to stay in these rooms - I'll leave those of you not staying with
a partner to decide who you're sharing a room with - there should be three
triples between you all. One of the triple rooms we'll need to hand over to
Ffion and Patrick as they didn't originally have a room booked for both of
them (unless any other couple wants that one) - should be able to work this
out when we arrive in the evening though. Any problems, just phone me -
though am sure it will all be fine.

This is where the indoor camping will be - people will be able to arrive
from 5pm to set up their sleeping stuff etc. I'll leave it to those of you
arriving earlier to coordinate when you want to arrive later on.
King Edward VI school, Glossop Road, S10 2PW. From our travelodge this is
about a 20 min bus journey or a 35 minute walk.
*Saturday*
Our warm-up dance is at 1010 in The Church House. We don't have breakfast
at the Travelodge, so we can go to spoons if we get up in time - it's a 5
min walk away in the direction of Pub No.1. We do need to make sure that we
all eat something before starting dancing whether this is from
Spoons/Greggs/Tesco/Sainsbury is less important so long as you have enough
- can decide times on Friday.
Spotlight is then our first dance at 11. Last dance will be back at The
Church House at 1540. Trad will be at 1845, but we should arrive for the
start at 1745, possibly having bought some food on our way to it to eat
during the showcase. The hope is that we can find a couple of pubs on the
way to the trad to have a warm-up. Showcase starts at 1910 in the Cathedral
- we dance at 2046. Results at 2200.
For more info, see links below.
Bear in mind what Becky said about drinking on Monday - i.e. have one
before dancing, and up to you after that, but don't get too pissed if you
still have dances coming up. Enjoy yourselves - it's going to be a great
day! :)
*Sunday:*
We need to check out by 12
Suggest Spoons for breakfast as we usually do...
There is usually a workshop run by the winning team, which is then
followed by the DERT meeting. I think Becky and I are intending to go to
the meeting, feel free to join if you wish. This will be over in the school.
Home on whichever train you are booked. If I've bought your ticket, I'll
be handing them over Friday evening when I see you.
*Kit etc.*
As Becky said on Monday, make sure your kit is clean. Please don't put
skirts/sashes/petticoats in the washing machine though. If any of these
need cleaning a bit of a sponge is probably fine - sashes this needs to be
a dry as possible sponge. If in doubt ask Sue (also if I've written
anything incorrectly here, please correct me Sue!).
Polish your shoes - I'll have some with me in case, but easiest to do it
beforehand if you can. I think Ffion is buying some new shoelaces, if yours
are looking threadbare, might be time for some new ones!
I think both Westerhope and Piccadilly teams all have new tops and tights
- so please remember to bring them with you.
Have a think about the best way to keep hair tidy - Piccadilly crew don't
forget the skull hair bobbles.

you want to see it:

Becky created this lovely map of our route during the day:

There was also an email Becky sent with our timetable written out - we
should get a programme though, which will give us all the info we need.
Congratulations for making it all the way down to here! Any questions let
me know and I'll do my best to answer them.
See you in 2 days time!! It's going to be awesome!
