Subject: LFF Dance Programmes
Dear Dancers
Firstly I must apologise for having been out of the picture for the past few months but
sadly my mum passed away this week after a three month illness. It has been a difficult
time and has meant I have not been able to devote time to the Folk Festival but the
committee has been hard at work to make sure everything is ready for another cracking
festival and we’re looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday.
I have listed below all information that you may find helpful and have included a link to
the website. Also included are the dance programmes for all three dance sites.
Morris Sides (no PA or floor required) will dance at either Belton Bridge or Foundry Car
Park, swapping round at lunch time after the procession.

In order to give everyone 15 minutes (including change over) I have had to start the
dancing off at 10:15. However, last year, several sides weren’t able to make it on the
day and we found there was plenty of time for dancers to extend their slot. Please use
the time slots as guidance and feel free to adjust accordingly on the day.
Gareth Prior will be running the Victoria Car Park site so please head to the site and
make yourself known to Gareth who will be manning the PA system.
THE PROCESSSION
The procession will be the main focal point of the day and it has been arranged that all
sound stages will be closed down for the commencement and duration of the procession.
We would urge every dancer present on the day to join in with the procession, even if the
cobbles mean you would rather walk it! At 13:00 we would like all dancers to line up in
the specified order below, the reason being that it makes the process of calling all the
dancers into Victoria Car Park at the end of the procession, all the more straight
forward. As each side dances into Victoria Car Park they will stop and form an arch, the
next side will dancer under that arch then form their own arch on the end. The next sides
dances under the two sides arches before tagging on the end and so on. Once all sides are
in Victoria Car Park the traditional Dorset Four Hand Reel will take place.
There will then follow a very short (one dance) Ceilidh spot in Victoria Car Park before
dancing can start again.

FESTIVAL MAP
The map above shows all the main points of interest for the Sunday.
LFF festival map
The Simply Seafood restaurant has recently re-opened under the Belton Bridge Flyover and
any dance sides that fancied a change of scenery would be welcome to dance there but this
would only be suitable for those who do not require a PA or dance floor.
CAR PARKING
The car park at Leigh Train Station is free all day but all other car parks and bays are
subject charges as shown at each car park or bay. I will be based at the information tent
at Belton Bridge for the morning so please come and say hello when you arrive so I know
you are here. My telephone number is 07818 622 822.
I will try to answer emails as much as possible too but I have several appointments today
in relation to my mum’s affairs so please bear with me if you do not get an immediate
response.
Thanks for all your patience this year. Looking forward to a fabulous day on Sunday.
