Dear all
Thanks Hannah. Quick word on DART so we're prepped for a discussion on
Monday. We agreed at the AGM that if we're to consider going in 2020, we
probably want to agree to aim for it in principle at this EGM - giving us a
year and a half to sort everything out. Clearly it would be a great thing
to do, lots of fun and great experience for the team. It would also be
hugely appreciated by the American teams.
A few things to think about:
- DART 2020 is likely to be in Minneapolis. It usually has roughly the same
format as DERT although it's smaller. I guess we'd probably look at going
over there for a week before or afterwards, and coordinate some activities
(dance outs, visits etc) with local groups.
- Clearly most of us won't have planned in detail what life will look like
in Autumn 2020. I guess on Monday we'd be looking for an indication that
this is something we want to work towards and provisional commitment to
take part, recognising that stuff/life/priorities can change. Full
commitment would come when we get around to booking stuff like flights.
- Typically, we'd pay to get there but local teams would host us when we're
there. Flights probably cost between £400 and £500 per person. I'm sure as
a team we can agree how to make sure noone is excluded on the grounds of
cost.
- I'd be happy to help (and coordinate) organising if that's helpful.
