Hi All,

Final info. I've attached a list of all our spots and meeting points where I know what these should be. I am slightly less familiar with Bromyard than Sidmouth, but Bromyard is smaller so having all the details mapped out isn't really an issue, and from what I remember it is pretty easy to find the pubs ☺.

In terms of packing things, one thing to bear in mind, is that whilst it is pleasant during the day, once sun has gone down, it gets really cold! So you'll definitely be wanting your hoody, and maybe layers to go under it as well. 🕶 Weather forecast is generally reasonable otherwise, though maybe a little cooler than it has been here. At the mo, there is a possibility of a shower saturday afternoon.

Tickets cover you for the whole weekend, Thursday through to Sunday night (you can stay Sunday if you wise), though dancing will only be Saturday and Sunday. Our last spot on Sunday finishes at 1610 on the festival site.

Friday
Arriving - I think Rachel is possibly getting there first, so hopefully will let us know where she puts the tent... When you arrive, you just pick your tickets up at the festival site (maybe say you're from Tower Ravens to help them) and that gives you your camping and entry to stuff all in one go. The festival site and camping are in a series of fields, it's all pretty flat, and not completely huge. I've reattached the maps, just in case you need them.

For those attending the procession, we will need to meet at the Rose and Lion at 2000 ready to process at half past. I will be bringing the banner, and if someone with swords could bring a set that would be great. It might be that we are all together by that point anyway...

Saturday
We have the workshop as Becky said in the morning, please wear kit. We then have a series of spots throughout the day with other teams. It seems fairly chilled in terms of timings, so we'll probably have plenty of time for food and stopping in local watering holes...
We also have the ceilidh spot at 9pm in the ceilidh tent on the festival site, so please maybe don't get absolutely battered before then.

Sunday
More spots, the final one is on the festival site (finishing at 1610), which will make going home after fairly easy. The 3 (?) of us relying on public transport, should probably coordinate what train we get home and book a taxi in advance. Think it's just me, Emma and Hannah TD - if either of you has already booked stuff let me know/if either of you has energy to investigate taxis, that would be awesome... we can figure it out between the three of us.

One slightly weird quirk that I think I remember from Bromyard, is that it is entirely possible that there will be a session (very) late at night in one of the shower blocks (ladies, I think) - so just be aware that that is a possibility for any late night showers! When I see the shower block, I'll soon remember!

I think that should cover everything, but if I've missed something please shout!

Thanks,
Hannah

Hi All,

Bromyard Info has arrived! (Hannah / Emma, would you be able to pass any info onto Ben / send me his email address so he doesn't miss out on any Bromyard info please?)
It looks as though the last spot on Sunday finishes at 1610, if this is likely to be an issue for anyone, could you shout now please.

I've attached all the info I've been sent. You're tickets will cover you from Thursday to Sunday if you wish.

There are some wet weather plans for dancing if it does rain, as we do have outside spots. Don't forget to make sure you pack something warm as it does get cold once the sun goes down.

Schedules are attached, most of the spots are near pubs... so plenty of opportunity to pop inside in between! Spots are about 45mins and we seem to generally be with 3 other teams for most of them. Don't forget we will have a workshop on Saturday morning (1hr) and then the ceilidh spot on the Saturday night. I'll prepare schedules for us later in the week.

Thanks,
Hannah

Hi All,

For those going to Bromyard, here's an update on roughly what is happening. We have currently been asked to do a workshop on the Saturday at 0945 and the ceilidh spot in the evening at 2100 - both of these will be on the main site - so short walk from the tent in the morning! Otherwise, we'll likely have some spots around the town from memory and can find our way to dancing in pubs! On the Friday night there is the torchlit procession, which at the moment I have been slightly non-committal as not very many of us were sure when we would be likely to be arriving. The procession starts at 2030, so once you've sorted your travel out, if you could let me know yay or nay for procession if you haven't already. ☺

So... travel. I think I noted before that the easiest option is taking either the 1523 or 1445 train from London, both of which get you to Bromyard at 1833 - if you're able to "work from home" on the train, this would be a good option if taking public transport. The other option completely by public transport is the 1922 from Paddington which after waiting about an hour for a bus will get you there at 1225. However, given that the latter isn't ideal, then the team can reimburse taxis - though perhaps try and coordinate a group if possible.  This brings me onto getting home, which has the slight difficulty of there not actually being any buses (except for the 0850) - so again we'd need to look at taxis, or whether anyone driving could drop people off in Worcester or somewhere on their way back. I'm not sure who is driving though... The good news is that the Paddington-Worcester return is £36.15 with railcard (other routes available)

As it seemed to mostly work with Sidmouth, could you add your travel arrangements to the Bromyard section at the bottom of the sign-up sheet. If you happen to be driving and are able to help with any king of lifts on Sunday / would have space for a person in exchange for petrol money, please could you add that as well?

In terms of packing things, one thing to bear in mind that whilst it is pleasant during the day, once sun has gone down, it gets really cold! So you'll definitely be wanting your hoody, and maybe layers to go under it as well. 🕶
