Hi All,
A few things for you all to take a look at on the sign up sheet - not least
our invite to Whitby 2019!! woop woop!
Crawl tomorrow, hopefully should be some details from Hannah soon...
1. Kit
2. Sign-ups (many many sign-ups, grab some tea and settle in!)
3. AGM
1. Please bring your kit on Monday (1st October) so we can sort out any
shabby kit (Katherine, do you have sparkles please? my sash is feeling sad
:( )
2. We have been invited to* Whitby Folk Week 2019!! *To hopefully answer
all your questions, I've just attached the invite... (apologies for being
lightly lazy there!) It is 17th-23rd August 2019, with the usual array of
spots, 2 parades, potential ceilidh spots, possibly a workshop and plenty
of opportunity to dance in the pubs of Whitby and eat Fish and Chips!
(Exact details to be confirmed...) They would like an answer by 30th
October, so please try and make a decision sooner rather than later. You
can easily get to Whitby by public transport - train then a bus (an
absolutely lovely bus journey over the moors).
That's the biggy out of the way, so:
We have our official invite to *Thrales Day* on 11th November in The
Knights Templar, think we are basically able to go barring the need for a
musician.
21st December the *Winter Solstice *in Rough Trade Shoreditch - we need to
let them know whether we are able to make it or not, so if you aren't a yes
or a no, could you* please make a decision* about whether you would like to
do it or not *by Monday.*
I've moved the December crawl a week earlier - as that might suit people
better - it's now the 13th.
31st May - 2nd June *Ossett Beercart*, near Wakefield. We have been invited
to this again, we went a couple of years ago, it's dancing around the town
at various spots including in the town hall, we also did some extra in the
pubs as well. They have camping on the cricket pitch with access to showers
etc there as well. If you fancy going, please fill yourself in.
I appreciate we now have a lot of possible events in a row in May/June and
that you might not want to do all, so could you add preferences where you
are free but don't want to do all.
6th July - *Kimpton Folk Festival*. We were invited last year but due to a
lack of public transport declined. However they are super keen for us to go
and have offered to transport us back to the nearest station (Harpenden) to
make sure we would be able to get home afterwards! Think last year it was
to do a couple of spots and possibly a workshop.
*Ilfracombe Morris Festival *13-14th July, dancing on the seafront and
harbour. Free camping and free lunch any day you dance. I suspect this is
unlikely given it is a morris thing and a bit of a way away, but it is in
beautiful Devon (not biased at all!). Apparently you can get to Ilfracombe
after work... 1803 train to Exeter, train to Barnstaple and then a bus
arriving at 2305
Wow, what a lot of invites!! (We've also been invited to apply as a busking
side at Chippenham, however this clashes with Goathland...)
3. As per usual, our *AGM* will be the day after Thrales Day - 12th
November. Please fill yourselves in as we need to make sure we have enough
people to hold it. For those that haven't been before, there usually plenty
of nibbles and drink to smooth the decisions along, if a Tower Ravens AGM
alone doesn't sound exciting enough to tempt you along :)
I've probably forgotten something, with all the invites we're getting at
the mo, but have a good week and please take a look at the sign-up sheet:

Hopefully you have all successfully made it to the end of this massive list
of things, if you have any questions about any of the events, please let me
know and I will do my best to answer them!
Thanks,
Hannah
