Subject: [TR Committee] Calling all wannabee DERT judges

To members of the Rapper world.

As you should all know by now, DERT 2019 will be held in Newcastle upon Tyne organised jointly by Kingsmen, Sallyport and Star and Shadow.

In the recent survey by the DERT Steering Committee the question of judges, how they were selected and how well qualified they were to judge was raised. In an attempt to respond to this we would like to offer the rapper community the opportunity to nominate potential judges for the competitions. The intention of this is to broaden the existing pool of judges and give an opportunity to new people interested in taking on this challenging role.

All nominees will be entered onto the list of potential judges but it will be down to the DERT 2019 committee to decide on the final list of judges with the intention of maintaining a good age, gender and regional balance.

Any nominee will need to be an experienced dancer (I suggest at least 5 years) with a genuine interest in rapper dancing that extends beyond just dancing in their own team. It would be desirable if your nominee has some experience of dancing in more than one team so that they have experienced a variety of styles and techniques.
