Hello All,
Hope you had lovely Christmasses yesterday.
I have had another look at Manchester trains and I think the cheapest way to do it is to buy advance single tickets which are currently £21 each way or £13.85 with a railcard. The trains leave Euston at 1820 or 1840 and take 2hrs8 and 2hrs9 to get to Manchester and it looks like all the trains going back to London on the Sunday are the same price - we would have to pick a train and stick to it, but I don't really see that as a problem.
If we get to a point where these are no longer available, or they just don't suit time wise, we could try fiddling around with going via Sheffield / Stoke-on-Trent / do something with Crewe but to be honest these don't really provide any benefit currently against those single tickets. These were the only alternatives Martin could think of (along with others that would make it cheaper but take forever to get there...).
Hannah :)
