Hi all

I hope those of you who were at Sidmouth are all recovering well! I echo Becky's words in thanking everyone for a great week, but I just wanted to add a few specific reflections:
1) Every one of us had a fantastic contribution to make and it was a real team effort, but in particular thank you to Hannah and Becky for flawless organisation and leadership which made the job easy for the rest of us.
2) We've mentioned this already, but the way we stuck together as a team and got on with the job, remaining friends and with no major issues at all throughout the whole week was remarkable. Will C was struck by how we just included him right from when he arrived, without any fuss, and he had a wonderful time. He's planning to come along on our next crawl.
3) We danced fabulously, but we know we can do that. What was really impressive for me was the consistency throughout the team and throughout the week. It didn't matter what the location was, what the time was or who was picked, everyone stood up to the plate and performed a great dance - and I think our audiences recognised that.
4) Clog. It's looking beautiful. We have nothing at all to be shy about now performing the dance out in front of any crowd.
5) We certainly made a name for ourselves, in a big way. In future I'd like to see us do more stuff together with other teams - take a lead on being friendly and inclusive (as well as good!) and be known for that. So for example, we could do a crawl together with the other rapper team, or plan a bit more of a joint show. I don't know - something to think about for the future.

Anyway, have a good week. Thank you all again and see you next Monday.

Martin

Hello all,

Please note there is no practice tomorrow in order to give those who went to Sidmouth a rest (plus I know a host of people are away!)

The next practice will be Monday 20th, where the focus will be prepping for Bromyard. After a quick look we can do all 3 rappers, and clog but will want to practice numbers we're at. We will also need to think about Faversham for the 2nd September, for that we can do Jubilee and Picaddilly, but not as sure about Westerhope!

Practice after that, 27th, is off as it is a bank holiday, so we will have the final practice as the 3rd.

For all people who didn't make Sidmouth, you missed a lot of fun, but can relish the fact that we made a great impression and can only hope to have raised our profile and get more invites off the back of it!

For all of you who were there, thank you for all of your hard work and enthusiasm. I slept for 13 hours (plus some additional naps) and am still pretty sleepy!

Photos: I've uploaded decent ones that Ken took to facebook, please feel free to add if you are an admin, or add them to here and give us a nudge to add for you:

For anyone with broken shoes please look into fixing them before next practice, or at least before your next outing!

Have a great week 😊

Becky xx
