Hello all,
As may have become apparent over the last few weeks, Kate has realised she can't commit to crawls in the run up to DERT, although should still manage the majority of practices and would like to be involved at DERT. We've discussed it sporadically as a team
and I'm confident we don't have any in-house members who want to step up to this role at the moment? Please correct me if I'm wrong!
Moving forward we do need to consider what we will do next, even if it's just establishing a stand-in for the first couple of crawls in the year.
People we know and have played for us in the past are Martin, Nikki and Will Allen (the box player who has come with Martin a few times). All, especially Martin, have offered to cover us if we need it, but I don't think really want to be with us at DERT. With
that in mind, do the team have any ideas how we should approach the problem?
Ideally the closer we are to DERT the more experience we have dancing to specific music as it makes us more relaxed when we get to the actual competition. Kate has shown us huge commitment over the years and, again correct me if I'm wrong, is still keen to
be as involved as she can, including being at DERT and playing for us if that works best for the team.
A possible suggestion would be contacting one/all of the three mentioned and asking re. availability and asking if they could team up with Kate so the same music is being played whether Kate is present or not? This would be easiest with Nikki and Martin as
it's all the same instrument.
Food for thought, any bright ideas maybe talk at the crawl??
Thanks all,
Becky
