Crook Morris have decided to take a leaf out of our book and hand out Kendal mint cake.  Hope it doesn't backfire on them!

NB They went under the name of Westmorland Wrapper last year (not their real name) and we met them in our warm-up pub.

Congratulations everyone. The dance last night was looking and feeling really good. The music is energetic and Sue is confident and entertaining. Let's do this!!

I guess tall & dark is relative - & let's remember I'm rather short & pasty!

Maybe Hannorah is seeing the other teams, rather than the judges - opinion may see (some of) them as 'tall and dark'.

Where do you think you're going to find any tall dark men at DERT?! More likely bald, beer-bellied men ;-)

How are we going to do?

My crystal ball tells me we're going to do our very best & tall dark men will be impressed by how much we've improved in the last 12 months.

PS  Fantastic prediction, Hannorah!  CONGRATULATIONS!  Only 12p out (even less if you count the 0.06 euros that I didn't mention)

Now tell us how we're going to do at DERT.

Back on e-mail at last Emoji  But pages of unread messages to trawl through now Emoji

Thanks for all this, Ffion.

I'd love to go through my whole Dert routine a couple of times if there's time available tomorrow.

Can anyone remember the new thing I thought of saying on Thursday?  One was something like 'I used to have legs like that' but I can't for the life of me recall the other.

We made £87.08 on Thursday.  Similar amount to usual in small coinage, but fewer £1 coins and only 1 note.

Well done everyone - a highly enjoyable evening!

Hi all,

Thanks again for another great crawl last week and thanks to Hannorah and Janet for organising.

I'm really sorry that I forgot to get our final dance recorded on Thursday. I did, however, take this very dark video in the pub where we did two dances http://youtu.be/PaXcSmnIDRA

So, DERT. It's nearly here! We've put a lot of effort in in the last two months and it's really paying off. So much of the dance is crisper, tidier and tighter than before. The reception we had at some of the pubs on Thursday just shows how good we've become! There's obviously more we could do, but there's only one more practice before DERT. I'm trying to plan our two hours wisely so I'm thinking, for the DERT set:

Little bit more precision work:
- Straight line of swords in fourth corner
- Snappy hands in pixies
- clash

Rapper is about getting the right balance between precision and buzz so I also want to work on:
- Keeping heads up throughout the dance
- Smiling at appropriate times
-Flicking skirts in walk the dog, back 8 and pixies - please bring skirts and petticoats if possible
-Dancing in tight spaces

I've sent round a lot of videos recently and I've put the links below. If you're in the DERT set please can you think of ONE thing about your personal dancing that you want to make sure you get right. It could be something you usually get right but sometimes forget, or it something that doesn't quite feel right. If you don't get time I'll think of it for you ;-)

DERT set, please let me know if there's anything crucial I've left off the list above of things to work on on Monday.

For the DERT reserve set:
More dancing to improve fluency and timings - Sinead can work with you to iron out any issues so please have a think about any figures you want to work more on.

Sue, I think you did really well on Thursday and that your timings for the jokes which relate to the figures was good. Let me know if there's anything you specifically want to work on.

Finally, please bring your sashes - Sue wants to attack them with her new diamonte gun!

See you all tomorrow,

Ffion x
