Thanks Ffion.
The final order of the dance is:
1) Walk on into line, step for 8.
2) Turn out.
3) Right and Left.
4) Cramper.
5) Fast knot.
6) Fourth Corner.
7) Curlys. (6th dancer in)
8) Jigging Guard.
9) Back Lock.
10) Step in a line.
With a lock between each figure.
Now here's the detail with the counts.
1) Line up as for Jubilee, swords on shoulders, walk on in step. Circle around and fall into line together (1 takes small steps, 5 takes large ones.) Music starts, No.1 calls 'this time', step for 8.
2) Walk into walk around, swords snap into place on 4. No. 1 calls 'Turn out'. Single guard in the order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Each dancer takes 4 beats to walk around and back into place. Raised swords are held loosely so they stay flat. Sword stays raised between dancers, don't bring them down and up again. After No. 5 returns to place (on beat 4) No. 1 calls 'Lock'.
Lock on 8. Step for 8. Break on 8. No. 2 turns out sharply and all go into a walk around, hitting coach and horses positions by 8.
3) Immediately into 3 curlys. No. 3 turns left each time. As Nos. 1 & 5 walk to the back of third curly No. 1 calls 'swap sides', cross sides in a figure of 8 pattern (NOT walking to the front and turning) in the order 1, 5, 2, 4, 3. Walk around to the back and cross to your original side. This is one right and left. Repeat twice. No. 1 calls 'curly', then 'lock'.
Lock on 8. Step for 8. Break on 8. No. 2 turns out sharply and all go into a walk around, hitting coach and horses positions by 8.
4) Immediately into cramper. Nos. 1, 2, 4, & 5 move aside to allow No. 3 to walk through the set, No. 1's sword is raised and they step for 8. Simultaneously No. 3 walks through the middle of the set, turns left & back to place by 8. No. 2 & 4 do a quick do-si-do around 1 & 5, then lock.
Lock on 8. Step for 8. Break on 8. No. 2 turns out sharply and all go into a walk around, hitting coach and horses positions by 8.
5) Immediately into two curlys. As Nos. 1 & 5 walk to back of the second curly No. 1 calls 'swap'. Swap to opposite sides and back 3 times as in Right & Left. As Nos. 1 & 5 walk to the back of the 3rd figure of 8 No. 1 calls 'fast knot'. All stay on the wrong side of the set & do a 'curly', before swapping back in order and doing a curly on the right side of the set. Lock.
Lock on 8. Step for 8. Break on 8. No. 2 turns out sharply and all go into a walk around, hitting coach and horses positions by 8.
6) Step for 8. Move into fourth corner positions by 4. All step for 4 with a westerhope double tap on the 8. Nos. 1 & 5 two footed jump on beat 2, whilst 2 & 4 sweep (kneeling with left knee on the ground). No. 3 two footed jumps on beat 4 whilst Nos. 1 & 5 sweep. Lock immediately.
Lock on 8. Step for 8. Break on 8. No. 2 turns out sharply and all go into a walk around, hitting coach and horses positions by 8.
7) Immediately into 3 curlys. No. 6 joins the set in the 2nd curly, behind No. 4. Lock.
Lock on 8. Step for 8. Break on 8. No. 2 turns out sharply and all go into a walk around, hitting coach and horses positions by 8.
8) Step for 8. Nos. 1 & 5 cast out and walk to the back of the set in 4, whilst everyone else steps on the spot. All move forward while Westerhope stepping (5, 6, 7, 8). Nos. 2 & 4 cast out and walk to the back of the set in 4, whilst everyone else steps on the spot. All move forward while Westerhope stepping (5, 6, 7, 8). Nos. 3 & 6 cast out and we lock.
Lock on 8. Step for 8. Break on 8. No. 2 turns out sharply and all go into a walk around.
9) Walk around for 8, Nos. 3 & 6 should be at the back on 8. No. 1 will call 'lock on 4' or 'on 8'. Everyone turns left, makes sure their hips or shoulders are touching the dancer next to them and locks on 4 or 8. Let go immediately (jazz hands). No. 6 takes the lock and we peel out into a line, 1, 2, 3, 6, 4, 5.
Step for 8 or 16, until No. 1 calls 'out'. Finish with two stamps, as in Jubilee. Wait for the music to restart, stamp with your right foot on 8, sharp turn to the left and follow No. 1 off.
If I've missed something, or it's unclear please let me know.
See you on Monday.
