Hi all,
I made it to the KCL Freshers' Ceilidh last night- it was small but fun. Joseph
Symons-Smyth is the one organising workshops. He's most interested in dance-
especially rapper and morris. In an ideal world they'd like to find someone who can
help weekly or fortnightly, but one off workshops are also welcome. Other members of the
society are interested in story telling and they run a weekly session, so if you know
anyone who'd like to run a workshop in a vaguely folk related area contacting KCL Folk
Society on facebook or emailing kclfolksoc(a)gmail.com is the way to get in touch.
My friend Peter went to UCL's ceilidh in the quad and said it was packed,
incidentally. A performance spot there might be a good recruiting technique.
To clear up the confusing 'dropping kit off' logistics: I get the train into
Cannon street 10-10.30ish and can drop nearby, walk to Bank, spend the day in Chancery
Lane and then walk towards Holborn at 4.30ish and up towards UCL. I'll be doing this
every Monday and Thursday. If none of that is convenient I'm happy to post it to
someone.
Good luck with the open practice!Sinéad
