Fabulous work, Hannorah!

Sorry to put a spanner in the works, however, but if we intend to display the card with the cake, any shade of blue will look naff with all the autumnal shades.  I absolutely appreciate that it's in the Ravens' colours.  But the theme of the wedding is brown/yellow/orange and particularly GREEN.

If we give the card separately, it is indeed superb, although I do prefer Hannorah's original version.  The second one isn't even in Ravens' colours!  Tried and failed to experiment with a green background, but now I must get baking.  Fast.

It's displaying weirdly on my computer too. I have a feeling it's cos the font you've used isn't on my computer. If you 'save as' a PDF you'll have better luck.

I might have the background a slightly lighter blue as well, cos I think you may have trouble printing that dark with black writing.

Don't think it's displaying properly on my ipad but, grammatically, it should be "if music WERE food".

Sue suggested sending a brown envelope round the team (so no one feel pressure to give a certain amount) which I think is a good suggestion. If we do it next week there's the added benefit that Nikki won't be there to see us doing it!

I'm afraid its a bit 'clip-art', so let me know if its a bit too rubbish. If not I can print and post a copy to you Sue if you give me your address.

Also if it makes it easier I can be the person who collects everyone's contributions. Jo I already money from you - because I owe you £10 from Whitby.

Fantastic!

Sue - I can give you £ next week or if you send account number & sortcode I'll pay straight into your account. At £80 (not including your time) I'm glad we're all chipping in!

I can try and design a tag tonight which I'll email over & if you like it I can print & post to you tomorrow, if you give me your address.

Rachel - I didn't send it to everyone because I don't want to influence people's choice unfairly.  However, thank you for doing that; you have saved me some embarrassment.

Now I really must get baking if there's to be any cake at all!

I am happy to put some money towards the cake. Sounds like an excellent idea!

Forwarding Sue's costing as she only sent it to me :)

I think it would be a wonderful joint present, but I really don't want to influence everyone unduly.

So far I've spent around £80 on ingredients, cake boards, cardboard boxes and ribbon, but I haven't finished yet.  I'm keeping a record of everything.  It's going to be around £100 and that doesn't include the 10in cake tin that I still need to buy (all the others I either have already or have borrowed).  I could hire it, but I'm very happy to buy one of my own."

Hi all,

To my knowledge Nikki is not planning on paying Sue for the cake ingredients (I'm actually quite surprised you haven't had that conversation already, Sue?), so cake ingredients sound like a good present to me.

If you have any idea regarding what sort of amount it's going to be, Sue, we could work out how much that is each, and if there's extra money for something else as well or not.

I think there should definitely be a card or something to explain, though!  Happy to buy something, but if Hannorah's going to make one that sounds even better :)

OK, I'm also happy to contribute to the cake and for that to be the Tower Ravens gift. Shall we all just give Sue however much money we'd like to contribute when we next see her? Nice idea about a tag to go with the cake, Hannorah.

Hope practice last night went well,

Only just had a chance to catch up with today's messages, so only just seen this.  I would hugely appreciate some help towards the cost of the wedding cake, assuming that Nikki is not intending to contribute.  Don't really know; it hasn't been discussed and I don't really know how to ask.

However, I completely understand if you'd prefer to buy her something else.  Thank you for offering, Ffion.

I'm not aware that it was discussed this evening; if it was, I missed it.  And because I've been at a funeral most of the day, I'm afraid I didn't think about a card, although I do have one here that I could easily have brought.......

Sorry

Hi All
Sorry, I won't be at practice tonight either as I've got late netball game, & as its 1st of the season I don't want to miss it.

I am happy to contribute to the gift. Didn't we talk about all of us contributing towards the cake ingredients if Sue is having to pay for this herself, as it could work out quite expensive for her if not? If we went down this route perhaps we could make a little accompanying card/tag to indicate that that's what we've done. Happy to make one & send to you Sue?

Otherwise happy to gift towards a gift on their wedding list.

Would someone write a message in the main card from me? Something like ''Congratulations Nicky & Ozzie! May your married life together be full of love, happiness & harmony. Love Hannorah xxx'

Thanks
H

Hi all,

Could someone please volunteer to buy a wedding card for Nikki and get it signed by people who are there tonight but who aren't coming to the wedding? I'd do it myself but can't be at practice tonight because of a work event.

Also, we need to sort out a team wedding present. I imagine some of you will be buying individually but could you maybe discretely discuss it tonight? If you tell me how many people would like to contribute and roguhtly how much money we'd like to spend I'm happy to look at the list and actually do the purcahsing.

Hope you have fun tonight,
