Turns out we got this useful information regarding York the other day! In my defence I was
moving house so I completely forgot.
1. If you have any items of kit, coats, instrument boxes etc that you do not want to carry
in the procession we will have someone in Kings Sq from 10am to sit an guard them until
you arrive there. 2. We are not supposed to actively collect from the public, but we are
allowed to put out collecting "vessels" and ask for donations. Please do! - we
will have 4 "donation" hats available. 3. York City Centre is designated an
"alcohol free area" on the streets. This does NOT mean you cannot drink alcohol
on the streets. What it means is that if you are asked to stop drinking in a public area
by a police officer then you MUST - or risk being arrested! Most pubs will not let you
take drink out in glasses but will in tankards. Some bar staff will tell you it is an
offence to take drink out, or drink alcohol in the street. This is NOT true as explained
to me by the licensing officers recently. If you experience difficulties - go to another
pub!!!
The times look like quite long slots but we do need travel time in there too to get from
one dance spot to the other so hopefully will give us enough time to do a variety of
people at different numbers without us all getting tired!
As we can store stuff for the day I am not going to worry about us needing storage
lockers.
I will need £10 from everyone on the day for accommodation.
Everyone should bring: sleeping bag,air bed/mat (we don't know how many dance mat
things there are)change of clothes for the social!I'm taking wet wipes in an attempt
to get less sweaty for said social after dancingif people want tea and coffee they may
well have to bring it-there is a kettle at the accommodationtrain tickets!
Please let me know if there is anything else you are unsure of and I will try and find out
for you.

Good stuff! 1 question though - I'm a bit confused.
You say "As we can store stuff for the day I am not going to worry about us needing
storage lockers." Where can we store stuff? Do you mean at the hall where we're
sleeping? Because all I can see is that we can leave stuff at Kings Square (where the
procession finishes) for the duration of the procession?
