Hi everyone
Thanks to Rachel-anne, Tori, Fliss and Hannah, we had an enjoyable and reasonably
productive day's sewing last Saturday, but there's still much to be done.
We have another session this Sunday, starting around 11am at my house. Yes, you even get
a lie-in! Everyone is welcome and you don't need to be a confident seamstress
because there is a lot of cutting, sparkling, ironing and tea-making involved and you have
the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped the team and saved me SEW much time
(sorry!).
Travel details are in my original message, which I can't see at the moment, but
Outlook is promising will be included with this message. Unfortunately the Overground
will be closed for engineering, but there are replacement buses and the trains from London
Bridge aren't affected. There is no Sunday service direct to Forest Hill from
Victoria, but there's the normal service from Victoria to Penge East and you can
probably travel via Norwood Junction, though I haven't had time to look that up.
Lunch will be provided, hopefully with something a little stronger than tea, if I remember
this time.
So I look forward to seeing as many as possible on Sunday. Any questions - give me a
shout.
S x

Subject: Saturday sewing
Hi everyone
Hannah - could you please forward this to Fliss? I don't have her individual
address.
Thank you so much for agreeing to help make some kit on Saturday. I'll try to get
going some time after 10am and you are welcome to come along any time after that.
We'll pack up by 4.30pm at the latest, but please don't feel you must stay until
then.
I have 2 electric sewing machines and there will be a lot of cutting, hand-sewing and
application of sparkles to be done, so if you have sharp scissors of any size, that will
be helpful. No worries if not.
I'm at 25, Pearfield Road, London SE23 2LP. The nearest station is Forest Hill, with
2 trains an hour from Victoria (30 mins) and 4 an hour from London Bridge (13 mins). It is
also served by 8 Overground trains an hour from Whitechapel, Canada Water, etc. Exit from
Platform 2, turn right and walk along Perry Vale for half a mile or so. Pearfield Road
will be on your right. The 356 bus goes along Perry Vale and stops at Siddons Road, but
it only appears every 20 mins at best, so unless you're lucky, it's not worth
waiting for. But if you phone me from the train, I'll pop along and pick you up in
the car.
Alternatively there are 4 Orpington trains an hour from Victoria and Brixton to Penge
East. The 75 bus stops very close to the exit from Platform 2 and takes you to Siddons
Road in about 8 mins, which is 2 mins from my house.
Hope this link works. As you know, I'm rather technically challenged.

I'll probably organise some soup, bread and fruit for lunch, but feel free to bring
any other snacks to keep you going.
Any questions - ask me tomorrow!

PS My kitchen heating isn't working, so please bring plenty of layers
