We were rained out on more than one occasion but on the whole it was a rewarding season. I am now starting to plan for the Leigh Folk Festival 2014 with committee sessions getting underway and initial plans being put into action. I am therefore delighted to invite you all to come and dance at the Leigh Folk Fesitval 2014. This year the festival will run from Thursday 26th June to Sunday 29th June. You are invited to come and join the main day of dance on Sunday 29th June which will follow a similar format to last year. This year we are placing a special emphasis on the procession which we would love to raise in prominence and make it the real centre piece of the day. I have enlisted helpers to steward the processional route through Old Leigh High Street and able assistants to enforce a noise shut down from all the band sites. The more sides we have joining in the procession the better it will be so I would encourage everyone to take part. I know it can be tricky and somewhat precarious to dance on the cobbles so if you feel you cannot dance the route, please join in and walk it. It really is the highlight of the dance day and I would love to make it into the spectacle it once was in years gone by. I very much look forward to hearing from you soon and hope that you will be able to make it on the day. Please let me know as soon as you can one way or another so I can plan accordingly.
