Hi all, Last week (30/1) there was some experimentation with sweeping the sword between consecutive dancers down and up in single guard. I said I'd go away and check what the notation says, as I had a memory the notation said to keep swords high. Sorry it's taken me so long to come back to you all! However, I am wrong, and the notation is just not that specific. It says: "Each dancer in turn lifts his rapper turning left out of the set, dances around the set and back into place". If the sweep is something people would like to try, therefore, we could try it again in practice and see what we think - I know many of the Westerhope set weren't present when it was tried on 30/1 (including me!) and you should get a chance to try it too. Just to be clear, we won't be doing this on Thursday, but instead will dance as we have been doing with swords high throughout the figure. Rachel :)
