Hi all, We'll run through this some more tonight, but here's some info on things we've been invited to, just to get this in one place and a bit more organised: - - - - - 1. NEW INVITES (a) MABEL DAY - 1 DECEMBER 2013 Our official invite for Mabel Day: "It's our annual afternoon of dancing and cake-eating round the pubs of central Oxford, on Sunday December 1st. We also usually tour round a different area of Oxford the Saturday evening beforehand, and if you'd like to join us for that too it'd be lovely :) I'm afraid that, being a rather scattered team (geographically, speaking, but also wits-wise) we don't have any accommodation in Oxford to offer you (in fact, most of us are also wondering where we're going to stay...) Drop us a line if you're interested in joining us on either the Saturday or the Sunday!" We know we've a team for the Sunday. Do we want to do Saturday night as well? (b) CHINGFORD WASSAIL - 4 JANUARY 2014 They say "We would like to ask you to our Wassail on January 4th, Town Mead, Waltham Abbey, there will be dancing, music and eating and drinking." - update from Sue is that this will be from 7.30/8pm. We should reply to them soon! (c) CHINGFORD GENERAL DANCEOUT They also say "We dance out at local pubs on alternative Monday evenings between May and July - would you be interested in a dance out with us?" - is this something we are interested in? Shoul we suggest potential dates? - - - - - 2. UPDATES (a) NORTHWOOD DAY OF DANCE - 10 MAY 2014 This has been in the calendar for a while, however the signing up deadline is NOVEMBER 15th, which is Friday, so please please do make sure you are signed up if you're available! I think it would be a really fun thing to do. Sue says "It's a great day out in the Surrey/Kent Hills; coach transport between great pubs at places such as Penshurst and Limpsfield Chart, although the exact itinerary changes from year to year. All very pretty and green at a lovely time of year. However it's mostly morris, so they don't cater for wooden floors. Dancing is outside, although we could always dance indoors if the floor is more suitable." (b) CINQUEFOIL DAY OF DANCE - 18 or 25 JANUARY 2014 We have suggested these two dates to Cinquefoil and are waiting on an answer from them.
