That's OK about the 25th - looks like we'll be able to cover all positions with the 7 dancers we've got.
Patrick asked Thrales at the pub on Monday and the team consensus was that it's fine for us to have cinquefoil down on that day, as long as we don't dance in the same places as them - Soho and Southwark.

Hi All
Just found out my cousin as got me a ticket to Fleetwood Mac at the 02 on 25th Sept.
I love them so that's great! But It does mean I've got to pull out of the SOAS crawl. Sorry guys!
Janet & I are still happy to organise the pubs in advance. (I'll draw up a hitlist this week Janet)
Sinead has confirmed she's going, Josie are planning to go too to share number 4 duties?
On another point Ffion did you say you were checking with Clive & John at Thrales about whether they 'd mind us doing Cinquefoil crawl on the Saturday of Thrales Day, I couldnt remember.

Duplicate email from me, sorry guys! Shoud check my invox before sending things! I've put up another possible AGM date, which is directly after the thrales day of dance, as an alternative. Not sure which we decided would be better or not last night. It would be after a rapper-filled weekend, but we wouldn't be dancing.

Hi all,
Thanks to everyone who came to practice last night - we did some good work on the new dance and got to meet Katherine, our newest member :-) We also got to see some nice new business card designs expertly created by Lindsey.
Thrales can't get a team together for the Bermondsey Street festival on Saturday 21 Sept so they've asked if we'd like to do it.. It's a paid gig - £70. Afternoon - approx 1 - 5pm. PLEASE FILL OUT YOUR AVAILABILITY ON THE SHEET RIGHT NOW as they need to know soon. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AvM6rY7GMmOGdF9vYVIwaXBmXzViSzM…
Other dates issues - 1) please add your availability for the cinqufoil day of dancing. 2) We need to set a date for the AGM. Following on from last year it should be Monday 18 November. We need as many people as possible to be there so we can have a good meeting where everyone's views are taken into account. I've added the date to the spreadsheet. If not many people can commit we can explore other dates. 3) Patrick asked at Thrales' post practice pub outing last night and the general consensus was that it would be ok for us to have our cinquefoil day on 9 Nov as long as we don't got to the same areas as them - Soho in the day time, Southwark in the evening.
There are now only 3 more practices until Tenterden. Please try and make all three practices if you're coming to Tenterden (which is most people) - we need to make sure 5 people can get through the new dance! If you've been in a team learning it please try and do some mid week mental practice of how the figures go. I don't know about you but it really helps me when Monday rolls round again.
Finally, a reminder that The Foxglove Trio will be playing at this TOMORROW at The Music Box Folk and Acoustic Music Club, Paper Dress Vintage, 114 – 116 Curtain Road, EC2A 3AH. 7.30 – 11pm and I think we’re last. https://www.facebook.com/events/1401558180061613/. I'm also hoping to go to see The Teacups on Thursday at Islington Folk Club if anyone fancies joining me.

The new dance goes like this:
Walk on with swords down
Sweep them up one by one
Walk round clashing on 2 and 4, swords onto shoulders on 5 and snap down on 8
Single guard starting on next beat
Open ring
Number 2 ring
Lock and walk round twice to display
Coach and horses for Mary anne
Cramper
Lock for nut
Fast and loose
Choker
Open ring for windmills
Half a windmill into outward facing ring
Lock and walk round into straight line
Out
There's a version of this in a previous email from a few months ago with video links. If you search one of the figure names in your inbox it will probably come up!
Hope this helps everyone,

Hi there friends
Are there any keen knitters amongst you I wonder? Or any lapsed knitters, who fancy having another go? Or any knitting virgins who want to learn? (Its actually quite easy when you follow a pattern<http://www.ageuk.org.uk/get-involved/raise-money/get-knitting-for-the-big-k…>) :)
Age UK's Big Knit<http://www.ageuk.org.uk/bigknit> partnership with innocent is in full swing - for the 10th year. We're aiming to knit 1 million hats to sell on smoothies in November and December.
This is over twice as many as we knitted last year
So we're calling on supporters, beneficiaries, friends and relatives, even total strangers we see knitting the tube to please please help us by knitting some little hats and sending them to Age UK (address below) no later than 25th September.
If social knitting is more your thing then join us at Drink, Shop, Do<http://www.drinkshopdo.com/Drink,_Shop_%26_Do/Drink,_Shop_%26_Do_%E2%80%94_…> for our latest Big Knit 'n Natter Night on Monday 16th September from 6.30pm to 9pm. Its loads of fun honest!
And if there's no way you're ever gonna pick up those knitting needles in real life, could you take 1 minute for go onto innocent's Big Knit<http://thebigknit.co.uk/> website and design a virtual woolly hat? - cos Age UK gets 10p from every one of those too.
Thanks a million for your help

Hi,
Thrales have asked if we can do the Bermondsy street festival on the 21st
of septmber. We think its an afternoon thing, from 1pm to 6pm.

Can people fill in the crawl sheet ASAP about this, as we need to a) give
and answer and b) get the team dancing the second dance if possible!

Sorry guys but I'm not going to be able to come along this evening. Please let me know the login for the team spreadsheet & I'll update it.

Hello,
Just to confirm that the SOAS fresher's ceilidh will definitely be taking place on Wednesday 25 Sept. We've got enough dancers for that evening so we will change the date for the Sept crawl to 25 rather than 26 Sept. If you haven't marked your availability on the sheet yet please do so. Hannorah's going to look in to other pubs to dance at in the area.
Lindsey is going to bring the business card designs on Monday so we can pick one and get them ready in time for 25 Sept.
Have fun at the wedding everyone, especially Rachel!
Ffion x
Hi all,
This is all sounding good. However, can we just make sure we actually have
a side for 26th before I reply to Nat? Lindsey's away, I'm not sure if I'm
available, and Nikki may be on honeymoon...? Who is around?
In terms of travel expenses, I was unsure about that too. How much does it
cost 5 people to travel? But then if we usually make £75 or so by ourselves
of an evening, we'd do better both for longer. If we went for 9th instead
they might claim lower travel costs if travelling for the Sunday anyway? I
don't know.
I guess what I'm trying to say is please everybody sign up for all the
suggested dates and let's see when we've got a side for! If we're not happy
with any of her suggestions we can make some of our own.

Hi All
Coming into this a bit late (or as you seemed to have reached a sensible
consensus, may be coming into it at the best time!)
26th October sounds good. Without checking, I remember we had a 'Halloween
crawl' in for 31st October, so we could do 26th instead of that.
I'm totally happy to organise pubs. We can discuss where's best, & ensure
we're not going to the same areas as Thrales would be on 9th Nov.
One thing I would say, & this isn't meant to sound mean, but splitting
funds 50:50 is totally fair, however doubt there'll be loads left 'after
travel costs' for 5+ people to & from Leicester. I'm not bothered as of
course it's more for the fun of it, just thought I'd say.

I'm not sure that it would be rude to conflict with Thrales, since neither
side would be invited on the Saturday - and we could choose a different
area. However it would make a very rapper-heavy weekend. And I think we
need a strong side out on the Sunday, so we might be unwise to consider
that Saturday from a variety of perspectives.
However, if Cinquefoil intend to invite themselves on the Sunday, they may
wish to make a weekend of it .......

Can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to Saturday!
Don't forget to let me know if I can help.
Sinead is now in the process of organising her kit and I've finished the
first draft of the kit booklet. I've also ordered some more black fabric
and sash lining, so I'll wait to subtract the cost of that from the
takings, if that makes sense and you approve. The aim is always to have
enough fabric in stock to make 1 or 2 complete outfits, so that we don't

Further to my text conversation with Rachel, Cinquefoil Rapper are hoping
to join Tower Ravens for a crawl in London. One of our former members has
moved to work in a pub in London so it would be nice if we could make a
surprise stop off there too?****
** **
The dates I have proposed to Cinquefoil are as below:****
** **
Saturday 5th October****
Saturday 19th October****
Saturday 26th October****
Saturday 9th November****
Saturday 30th November****
** **
We were thinking of a Thrales b’day style crawl, all day into the evening
until we fall apart! Good fundraiser for our teams, splitting 50:50 after
travel costs if that’s ok?****
** **
Let me know about the dates, if we need to look further ahead then so be it.
****
** **
Would you be able to sort pubs or do we just turn up and ask on the day?****
** **
Thanks,****

Hi all,
In case you’re looking for something to do next Wednesday 11
September The Foxglove Trio will be playing at an event called
The Music Box Folk and Acoustic Music Club. It’s at Paper Dress Vintage, 114 –
116 Curtain Road, EC2A 3AH (i.e. between Old Street and Shoreditch). It’s on
7.30 – 11pm and I think we’re last. There’s information about the four acts
playing on facebook - https://www.facebook.com/events/1401558180061613/
