Hello all,
Figure we need to make a bit of a push with Sidmouth sign up, we're a back-up team and need to tell them sooner rather than later if we can make it.
At the moment we don't have a team, but these people have yet to reply:
Anna, Ellie, Emma, Hannah TD, Hannorah, Joanna, Rachel, Rachel-Anne
Please avoid putting yourself as a maybe, if you know you can only do the weekend/the week days etc. please put yourself as yes followed by days you would do.

Thanks all,

I'm sure that will be fine. I'm not sure who has spare sashes at the moment. Is it Hannah? X

Hi Ffion
Would you/you plural mind if I turned up not in official raven musician kit? It's very short, and shorter through too many washes! If I wear a black dress I could borrow a sash?

Hi all,
Here's the list of pubs for tomorrow. There are 8 on the list because several said they might be too busy (eventhough one said it would be dead on a Friday!). The first pub is near both Borough and Elephant & Castle. It does food but might be busy early on so you might want to grab food on the way. There is karaoke here at 8pm so I've said we'll dance quickly at 7.30pm and then get out of the way. Please be there on time and ready to dance at 7.30!

Hi All,
Just to let you know accommodation is now booked for us at the Travelodge
Central in Sheffield. It's about 10 mins walk from the train station and is
very close to the spotlight and showcase locations. (and if rumours that
the pubs are in Kelham Island, we'll be pretty close to that too! Rachel -
I haven't booked anything for you and Dan, as I wasn't quite sure what your
final decision was...
Trains - I am going to book these for the evening crew later on. I think
this will be the 1833, so shouldn't be a problem for anyone needing to do a
whole day at work. Sunday I haven't quite finalised a time, but it should
be around 2pm or so to allow someone to go to the meeting thingy (I forget
exactly when it usually finishes).
If you aren't travelling in the evening, if you wouldn't mind sorting
yourself out, that would be great - I can give suggestions of places to
split / go via to make it cheaper and will let you know which one I book
for the Sunday.
If you are on the list below, then I am going to book a ticket for you - if
you shouldn't be on that list, please let me know asap.
Anna (16-25), Emma & Tim (both 16-25), Ffion & Patrick (2 Together), Hannah
N & Martin (2 Together), Hannah TD (16-25), Katherine (16-25), Laura & Paul
(2 Together), Rachel-Anne (no railcard).
Thanks,
Hannah
Hi All,
Lots of potential festival bookings coming up - some of these in particular
we need to get a wiggle on with if we would like to go, so please take a
look at your diaries and sign yourselves up! Some of them I have a
reasonable amount of info for, others it's just a case of whatever is on
the website. To keep this email within the realms of possibility for
reading all the way through I've left out some detail.
Firstly, I know this will be a disappointment, but it sounds as though we
were sort of forgotten for *Beverley* this year and unfortunately both Star
and Shadow and Black Swan have been confirmed. It sounds like we will have
first refusal though for next year if that makes it feel better. On the
flip side of this, we were also invited to *St Albans* festival for the
Saturday which we can do, even if a couple of people change their minds on
availability (please don't all do so though!). As such I have put
everyone's responses as they were for Beverley for St Albans on the sign-up
- feel free to amend if needed.
Now, in no particular order...
*Wimborne Minster *8-10 June. Am assuming this is a no, unless there is a
sudden flurry of people wishing to go
*Sandwich Folk and Ale* 6-8 July
Looks to be about 1.5hrs away by train. There is camping available and we
would be able to choose what day/s we wish to do. Sounds like we can go
suss out the pubs and there is also a stone floor in the church (where the
craft stalls will be - I'm not randomly proposing invading the church.
Sounds like they would love us to go.
*Bridport Folk Festival *27-29 July
I think this is the second year that they have run the festival - sounds
like they book around 20 dance teams and have over 50 bands. More info on
the website: https://www.bridportfolkfestival.com/ Looks to be 3.5 hours by
public transport - so would be the whole weekend to be worthwhile.
*Sidmouth Folk Week* 3-10 August
I've heard that Star and Shadow aren't able to make it. Whip the Cat and
Thrales (first weekend only) will be there. SO we could see if we could get
an invite / maybe go as a scratch side if enough of us happened to be there
anyway. Please indicate if you think you might be there anyway.
*Edinburgh Fringe Festival* - a weekend in August
Suggested at the AGM, we thought it would be great to turn up in Edinburgh
for a weekend in August and dance around the pubs there in between events.
If interested in doing this please put your name down, perhaps with an
indication of weekends you can / can't do.
*Leigh Folk Festival *- 24th June
http://leighfolkfestival.com/ seems to be a mixed festival, with morris
etc. type things more on the Sunday with a procession.
*Faversham Hop Festiva*l - 1/2 September
https://favershamhopfestival.org/ Again one where we can just go for a day
- only about 1.25 hrs away on the train.
*Wickham Folk Festival *2-5 August
Think we were invited rather last minute to this one, think the line-up
actually sounded good last year. https://www.wickhamfestival.co.uk/ Free
ticket on dancing days. Other days half price (£25), also offer half price
tickets to partners. Please fill in by 15th Feb for this one.
Congratulations! You've made it to the end. You may now have a biscuit
(once you've filled in the sign-up sheet - link below!)
