I'm no expert as you all know, but think shorter swords are definitely a good idea for
helping make the set tighter.
Is there also something to be said for sword-arm length ratios. On average women's
arms are shorter than guys right - ergo our swords should be also! :-)
Do think it's interesting that there's not a standard competition length as
technically it could set you at an advantage/disadvantage. Mind you, so could your choice
of shoe for that, and where do you draw the line? :-)

I think we've had various discussions about actually wanting them a
little shorter and how we'd dance better as a result...

So we'd be going shorter. I suppose it will
make the set tighter
automatically, and the swords will be a bit quicker?
I presume there isn't the option to get the same length as we have now, 28"?

What length are our long ones?

Hi all,
I've heard from Jim again about the swords. They are 27" (not 17" as I
said on Thursday) so this must be from end to end, not just the blade part.
I measured ours again last night and the short one is 26 and a half inches
so Jim's would be half an inch longer. I'll write to him just to confirm the
length of the blade part but does anyone have any objections to placing an
order for the 27" ones? They're ready now so we'd have them really soon!
Could you let me know in the next couple of days if you have an opinion?
Thanks,
Ffion
